50 of The Best Tinder Bios for Guys & the Top 6 Bio Format Examples

best tinder bios for guys

Looking for some of the best Tinder Bios for guys?

If you’re struggling to figure out how to set yourself apart from the competition on Tinder™, I’ve got you covered. I’ve heavily researched this controversial dating app and hand-selected over 45 of the best bio examples for you.

Why is this important? Because dating apps have taken over as the medium of choice for single people to meet each other. While the bar scene used to be revered as the top place for singles to meet, things have taken a downturn in recent years, especially with Covid-19.

Best Tinder Bios for Guys Examples

#1: Don’t Make Women Feel Sad for You

Your life should not sound depressing in your profile. If you end up saying something like, “My life feels empty without someone special in it,” or “In a dark place — can you shine a light on me?” women will swipe left on your profile 100% of the time.

When you look at the best Tinder bios out there, you’ll notice that these guys exude positivity and seem to have a glass-half-full perspective when it comes to dating. By saying something like, “Got my life together just looking for more,” you’re showing that you want a relationship but you’re not wallowing in sadness over singledom.

Bio #2: Consider Why You Are Choosing to Advertise Certain Traits

This is one of the best Tinder bios because it’s guaranteed to make a woman chuckle and also will leave her more inclined to swipe right. Women love humor and if you can use it correctly, being comedic is always a win.

Bio #3: Don’t Be Basic

The guy in this screenshot is succinctly noting three things that are awesome when they stand alone (a French engineer, a personal development mentor, and a fitness enthusiast). But these three things are even more compelling when placed side by side.

Sure, a fitness enthusiast is great, but wouldn’t you rather hang out with a fitness enthusiast who can mentor you on personal matters and speak French while designing or building things? Très bien, indeed!

When it comes to creating the best Tinder bios, you want to make sure that you stand out and avoid being basic.

The following statements are extremely overused and boring when it comes to Tinder bios for guys:

-“I’m chill”

-“I love Netflix”

-“Drama-free”

-“I love to cook”

-“I love sports”

-[Insert statement about your height here]

That’s great that you don’t like drama and DO love sports, but how does this set you apart from the competition? It doesn’t.

Instead of focusing on what everyone generally likes, focus on what specifically makes you unique.

Bio #4: Make it Easy for Her to Connect With You

You can do this by telling her specific things about yourself. Instead of using a general statement like, “I love Netflix,” tell her what your favorite show or movie is and why.

When you offer specifics about yourself that are also accessible (i.e., things people can relate to and use in conversation), it helps you connect with a woman who shares your interests early on.

Best Tinder Bios #5: Avoid Coming Across as Insecure

The old adage about nice guys finishing last is false. The truth is that nice guys finish first, but self-proclaimed “nice guys” who are overly agreeable or insecure finish last. This is because women are attracted to confidence.

If you want to have one of the best Tinder bios for men, don’t come off as insecure or you’re guaranteed to get left swiped more often than not. You’re going to seem insecure if your Tinder bio includes things like:

-Goofy comments that attempt to be funny but totally miss the mark. For example, saying something like, “Aspiring gynecologist – hi ladies!” is terrible and YES, people actually write things like that on Tinder.

-Comments that make you sound desperate. Don’t put something like, “I’m down for anything.” Are you, though? What if she wants to go jogging across a bunch of bear traps – would you be down for that? Another desperate comment you shouldn’t use is something like, “I love everyone.” Do you love Hitler? No, of course you don’t, but when you say things like that you seem overly eager to please as well as insincere.

This Tinder bio right here is great because it borders on self-deprecating (“I can’t dance”) but then throws in a positive (“I have a puppy”), and it also shows a sense of humor.

Bio #6: Don’t State the Obvious

For example, don’t be a basic dude who says “6’3 if it matters.” Clearly it matters to you — otherwise, you wouldn’t have put it in your profile. Don’t make an obvious statement and then point it out. It’s annoying.

The below is an example of a great Tinder bio because it’s creative and charming all at the same time.

Bio #7: Don’t Be Vague

One thing that can be the difference between the best Tinder bios for guys and worst Tinder bios for guys is vagueness. When you say something vague like “I love sports,” you’re not doing yourself any favors. Instead, talk about what your favorite sports team is and why.

Don’t say “I like music” — tell me who your favorite musician is and give me some insight into what led you to become a fan of this musician.

Do you like to cook or do you consider yourself a foodie? Tell me about your favorite meal or your go-to dish that you make for special occasions.

Give me something tangible to connect with that also tells me who exactly you are.

Bio #8: Don’t Use Tons of Emojis

Don’t create a Tinder bio that is basically an incoherent stream of emojis. It’s overwhelming and obnoxious.

You’ll notice that many of the best Tinder bios for guys that are included in this post have emojis, but the emojis are peppered throughout the bio in a way that enhances their bio — it doesn’t dominate it.

See below. Feel free to throw in a dancing lady emoji if you like dancing or a few emojis to show that you like adventuring to different cities. But don’t throw me eight emojis of a dog, a donut, a sunflower, a smiley face, a dog, a cat, another dog and a bag of money just to let me know that you went skydiving ONE TIME.

Bio #9: Have Fun With Height

For height, list yourself as the tallest possible height. Don’t make a comment about it, just put the maximum height OR the shortest possible height (so you’re basically choosing between being like 8 feet tall or 3 feet tall, or something like that).

This will serve as a great conversation starter. If a woman asks about it, make a joke and show that you are poking fun at this superficial stat.

This will either help you make a connection or allow you to weed out extremely superficial people in case the woman demands to know your actual height and/or makes it clear being above or below a certain height is a deal breaker for her.

If you choose to list your real height, here’s a good Tinder bios for guys example you can emulate:

Best Tinder Bios for Guys #10: Don’t Add Unnecessary Information to Your Tinder Bio

Are you a blonde? Great, I should be able to tell that from your photos — you don’t need to tell me.

Do you lift weights at the gym? I can see that bulging bicep in your photos — you don’t need to add it to your Tinder bio.

Avoid adding unnecessary information in your bios and focus on succinct lines that will capture interest. Below is a great Tinder bio example for guys because it’s all very unique to the individual.

Bio #11: Be Subtle With Your Sarcasm

Sarcasm can be a great way to show your humor when used correctly, but there are times when you may not want to use sarcasm at all. In truth, sarcasm is often masked hostility and — when you come across as hostile — it’s a major turn-off.

Don’t be sarcastic in ways that are mean or bash online dating (i.e., “I’m SURE you’re not just judging me by my photos right now…lol yeah right”).

Finally, when it comes to being sarcastic, don’t say, “I’m sarcastic.” Show her instead of telling her. The same rule applies to someone who says, “I’m funny.” Show me you’re funny, don’t just expect me to assume that you actually are. Below is an example of a Tinder bio that made me laugh.

Bio #12: Be Clever

Clever tinder bios usually make for the best tinder funbios. Here’s an example:

This man has the last name of “Long” and pokes fun at himself by pointing it out and also follow it up by referencing that he’s a “mixed breed” like his dog.

So now you have a guy who is being clever and he has an adorable pup to boot. He nailed it!

Bio #13: Don’t Tell Me About Other People on Tinder That You Think Are Dumb

You don’t have to be dumb because they’re being dumb.

There are so many terrible Tinder bios that say things like:

-Don’t even know why I try. Girls on this thing are so superficial.”

-Message only if you’re not gonna be a b**ch!!”

-Does anybody here actually respond? Over this.”

Don’t be that guy! No one likes negativity and if that’s the first impression you’re giving off, it’s pretty much a guarantee that women will swipe left on you. Take a look at this super positive and clever tinder bio:

Bio #14: Don’t Post Bathroom Selfies

Stop.

Just STOP.

Why do guys keep doing this? Whether you have a rock hard body like David Beckham or a dad bod worthy of Seth Rogen, don’t show it off under the harsh fluorescent lighting of your bathroom or the locker room at your gym.

What’s even worse is that these selfies are normally paired with a vacant stare. In that case, you look like a serial killer and I am immediately becoming less aware of your abs and more fixated on the fact that a date with you could play out like an episode of Law & Order: SVU.

In short, never post a bathroom selfie OR a shirtless pic unless it is clearly part of a shirtless activity, like swimming.

Best Tinder Bios #15: Don’t Look Unemployed

I know that man buns and beards are all the rage, but that doesn’t mean you have to throw away your comb or forego doing laundry.

Don’t look unemployed and definitely don’t state that you’re unemployed on your Tinder bio.

If you are dealing with unemployment, don’t feel bad, it’s a place tons of people find themselves in at different points throughout their lives. But you need to make sure you fix your finances before searching for love.

With that said, when you are employed and able to take a woman to dinner (wait until date #3 I may add), try emulating this hilarious tinder bios for guys:

Bio #16: SMILE!!!

Blank stares are not sexy.

Smiling is sexy!

Make sure that you’re Tinder pics. This sends ladies positive vibes and shows that you know how to have a good time. The below bio example was written by guy who was smiling from ear to ear- super sexy.

Bio #17: Don’t Look Homeless

Just like you shouldn’t look unemployed, you also shouldn’t look homeless. Don’t take any sort of ruggedness or Boho chic to an extreme that would make a woman question whether you are able to pay rent or have access to running water.

The below is a great bio example. If only the guy didn’t look homeless.

Bio #18: Don’t Use Jokes If You’re Not Funny

I know I’ve been pushing the advantage of cleverness and humor, but if comedy isn’t your strong suit, don’t attempt to make jokes that fall flat.

There are many compelling Tinder profiles that are straightforward and compelling without using a ton of jokes. You can easily make your profile into one of the best Tinder bios by pointing out your unique qualities and passions in a succinct and compelling way, like this:

To work on your sense of humor or to test out some funny Tinder first messages, take a comedy or improv class. You can also use quotes from funny movies and stand-up comedy specials.

Bio #19: Don’t Have a Ferret in Your Photo

I didn’t know I’d actually have to put into writing that you’re not supposed to do this when posting pics to your Tinder account, but here we are.

I’m not saying that I hate ferrets or that you should hide your love for your pet ferret.

It’s just that — when people aren’t familiar with these creatures — seeing a ferret in a photo can be equal parts confusing and terrifying. From certain angles, ferrets can resemble rats, and some women are going to be thinking, “Why is he holding a rat? Why TF is he holding a RAT?!”

You think you’ve just done the most adorable photo op ever but all she sees is this.

If you must have a ferret in your photo, at least do the smart thing and make sure the ferret is flanked by kittens or something so she can ease into accepting that you have a furry snake as a pet.

Bio #20: Never Go Negative

The best Tinder bios for guys are the ones that shine are those that exude positivity. Don’t ever be negative in your bio.

The below bio example shows a strong outward based positivity – this guy loves to be active and enjoys putting himself out there, two things women love.

Bio #21: DON’T LOOK LIKE A KILLER

tinder killer

Nothing says “LEFT SWIPE” like looking as if you’re going to murder someone.

You might look like a killer in your photos if you:

-Don’t smile in your photos

-Have intense facial expressions

-Have neck tattoos

-Throw up gang signs

-Have “scary muscles” that could snap a babe’s neck

-Take photos of yourself in the hood

-Use only photos of yourself and no one else.

Avoid these things at all costs! For more on this topic check out my other post on the best tinder pics for guys.

Bio #22: Stop Advertising Your Flaws

Are you hungover from last weekend? Don’t advertise that — or any flaws — on your tinder bio.

If you use photos where you’re holding alcohol and/or drunk, you’re telling women that you’re an alcoholic. If you’re smoking cigarettes or weed in your photos, that doesn’t make you seem like much of a prize either.

Don’t advertise what’s not valuable about yourself. If it’s a threat — not an asset — exclude it. Here’s a bio example to emulate (in your words with your passions, obviously):

Bio #23: Make Sure You Look Like the Same Person in All of Your Photos

You don’t want her to get pre-date jitters wondering which version of you she’s going to get on a first date.

Make sure that all of your photos look like you and that they aren’t simply a collection of all the different looks you’ve tried over the years.

This is especially true in the facial hair department. Don’t use one photo with a beard and another without a beard — it’s too confusing. She doesn’t know which guy she’s going to get if she agrees to a date with you.

Finally, don’t use a photo from 10 years ago when you were a bodybuilder and another photo from the present day, where there’s a 100-pound difference.

It’s. Just. Confusing.

Moving on, here’s one of the funniest Tinder bio examples I found during my research:

Best Tinder Bio for Guys #24: Don’t Put Emojis Over the Faces of Other People in Your Photo

I don’t know when or why this became a thing on Tinder, but don’t do it. Putting emojis over the faces of other people in your photo is just creepy.

Maybe you’re worried that your friends don’t want their picture on Tinder or one of the people in the photo is an ex.

Whatever the reason, use pictures of people that you know won’t mind making an appearance on your dating app and NEVER post a photo of you with an ex. It’s just tacky.

With that said, this Antonio guy had an awesome approach on his bio:

Bio #25: Don’t Say “I Don’t …”

best tinder bios for guys 8

Focus on the things you do, not the things that you don’t do. When you start a Tinder bio with “I don’t” it’s negative and unnecessary.

Think about what makes you special as opposed to things you may be lacking. Here’s a simple winner that made me crave more:

Best Tinder Bios for Guys #26: Larry David and a 90’s R&B Singer

tinder bios example for guys

This one is just strange enough to work. So you are going to remind me of Larry David and a 90s R&B singer…and you watch old Soul Train videos as a hobby? Feel free to indulge in your quirky side when it comes to crafting your bio. Remember, you want to capture a woman’s attention fast so that she swipes right.

Bio #27: Who Doesn’t Love Pizza

good tinder bios examples

This one keeps it short and sweet, while also mentioning specific interests. I like that he listed two different musical tastes because it’s something that he can use to build rapport. And of course, pizza is something that pretty much everyone can bond over.

Bio #28: Cute Animals + Humor = Amazing Tinder Bio

tinder bios for men

You really can’t go wrong when it comes to a bio that mentions you love your pet. And in this case, this guy is demonstrating that he has a lot of patience and compassion, being that he clearly rescued two animals in need. But he’s making the most of his limited space (and limited attention spans) by also including a line to make girls laugh.

Bio #29 Rollercoaster, Anyone?

tinder bios example for guys

This bio is well and good overall, but what really makes this guy stand out is that he rides and designs roller coasters. That’s just not something you expect to hear everyday and also — it’s super cool!

What is his favorite roller coaster he’s designed? Did he help design that one that made you sick last summer? How many loops does he consider being the optimal amount of loops!

I have so many questions — and that’s the point.

You don’t want to give everything away when you’re writing a Tinder bio. In fact, you don’t even want to give everything away when you’re messaging a girl on Tinder. Women like a little bit of mystery, so save deeper conversations and personal info for when you two are on an actual date.

Best Tinder Profile for Guys #30: A Lot of Humor Packed Into One Tinder Bios

FYI, the “side chick” this guy is talking about is a cardboard cutout from what looks like a Comicon convention.

There’s nothing wrong with being a nerd, especially when you embrace it like this guy. I like that he peppered in some self-deprecating humor at the end as well. Women don’t want a guy who takes himself too seriously so don’t forget to laugh at yourself once in a while and go with the flow.

Bio #31: Possibly the Best Tinder Bio Ever Created

best tinder bios for guys 6

Honestly, you have my permission to copy and paste this bio because it’s one of the best out there. This guy crammed a ton of humor into a bio, along with pizza and tacos — pizza AND tacos!!

This creatively includes humor and also holds the woman’s attention in a way that can be difficult on dating apps like Tinder.

Bio #32: Kombucha and Pickles

best tinder bios for guys 5

Again, if you have an interesting hobby, be sure to list it. Whether or not a girl would have making kombucha and pickles in common with you, it’s something that’s bound to catch her eye.

Some guys shy away from sharing things they think are quirky and choose to list something generic instead. But remember, you want someone who can have shared interests with you, so it’s good to be up front right away. Doing this will increase your chances of matching with women you can have solid, real-life connections with.

Bio #33: Poking Fun at Superficial Height Preferences

best tinder bios for guys 3

Everything in this guy’s profile is pretty solid. He talks about specific interests and clarifies that the child he’s holding in one picture is his niece — this lets women know he doesn’t have kids but also shows that he’s good with kids.

I really like that he ended with a lighthearted jab at height preferences on dating apps. A lot of guys who aren’t super tall get self-conscious when it comes to dating apps. But if you can take it with humor and flip the script, it really works in your favor.

Bio #34: “I Have More Pictures of Dogs”

You had me at dogs! This guy had an adorable picture of himself with a pooch and — like I said — cute animals make everything better. The fact that women know there are more cute animal pics where that came from is enough to make them swipe right.

Also, like pizza, people are pretty unanimous in their love of tacos. Mentioning pizza and tacos at any time tends to be a good thing. In fact, if you are able to get someone to snap a shot of you making a pizza and taco platter while also holding a puppy, you’re golden.

Best Tinder Bios for Guys #35: Short, Sweet, and Self-Deprecating

This doesn’t delve too deeply into this guy’s interests, but it will capture attention quickly. Again, showing that you don’t take yourself too seriously is an attractive quality.

In this case, the guy is clearly being funny and not being negative, which is a common problem a lot of guys run into when using dating apps.

Make sure you don’t allow any frustration you have over online dating to bleed into your profile. Saying things like “sick of this app,” “on here not expecting anything,” or “is anyone here actually looking for a nice guy??” will just turn girls off and limit your success.

Bio #36: Nick Cage FTW

I officially need to find and download this Nicholas Cage app immediately! Aside from that intriguing piece of info, this guy starts off by showing he has a good sense of humor, which is always a good thing when it comes to creating a great Tinder bio.

Bio #37: Three Truths and a Lie

This is a great bio and could also make for a great first message after matching with someone on Tinder. Why? This piques interest and would require more than a “yes” or “no” answer as a response.

When you ask an open-ended question or offer up a fun game like this one, you’re much more likely to develop a connection with someone and keep the conversation flowing, which can make it easier for you to get a girl to go out with you.

Bio #38: More Games

This one can be a little risky, because he kind of veers off into questionable territory with the whole looking for someone “fit” and “Think you’re badass enough to steal my heart?” Then again, he also gets super specific and for a girl who really aligns with his interests, this could work.

If you’re unsure, just stick with the first paragraph in this one. People on Tinder tend to post the same types of things over and over again, so a lighthearted jab is fine as long as it isn’t mean or negative.

Bio #39: Slightly Vulnerable

best tinder bios for guys

This guy shares tons of awesome information about his career and also interests. I really like that he allowed himself to show some vulnerability without giving too much away. He runs a non-profit on the side in memory of his mother, which is extremely honorable and also pretty personal.

It shows a lot of confidence and strength that this guy felt able to share that on a dating app. Vulnerability is really important when it comes to dating because it allows you to build a deeper connection with someone, which will help you find a long-term relationship.

That doesn’t mean that you have to give everything away on a first date. But asking questions and being open to topics that aren’t merely skin-deep can help you increase your confidence and success in the dating world, as well as other areas of your life.

Best Tinder Bios for Guys #40: Turn Your Tinder Bios into a Funny Advertisement

I love this guy’s style. He’s showcasing a good sense of humor and creativity by turning his bio into a corny (albeit, effective) advertisement. There are other bios I’ve seen in the past that follow this kind of format, but with fake quotes from friends and family that read like quotes from movie critics.

For example. Let’s say your name is Nick. Your bio could read something like this:

“Five out of five stars when it comes to cleaning dishes.” — Nick’s old roommate

“I don’t know why he doesn’t have a girlfriend yet. HAVE YOU SEEN THAT FACE??” — Nick’s friend

“Awesome guy from the day he was born.” — Nick’s mom

“Please stop asking to quote me on your Tinder profile.” — Nick’s acquaintance

Bio #41: Be Topical

“I just want a woman who washes her hands for 20 seconds and knows how to properly microwave popcorn. (Hint: Never hit the microwave button.)”

We’ve all been emotionally drowning in COVID-19 talk for the past year. Avoid talking about COVID and how apocalyptic it is unless you’re making it known that you’re aware of how it spreads and take proactive steps in combating it.

This will signal to other singles that you don’t make risky social decisions and are probably safer to date than other men. However, only writing about COVID doesn’t show how multi-faceted you are.

This person ironically adds a little humor to their Tinder bio by talking about the gravity of COVID while in the same sentence making it known that he also wants a woman that knows how to handle her popcorn.

Bio #42: New Year, New Boo

“My New Year’s Resolutions:

Run a marathon

Learn how to play The Piano Man on piano (but first learn the piano)

Stop using the poop emoji out of context

Date more like-minded women from Tinder”

Not all guys feel like they can stack up against the competition. You might be one of them. So instead of talking about who you were or who you are, talk about who you want to be.

Look, the chances are you’re better than oodles of guys on Tinder, but maybe you feel as though you can’t convey that. That’s fine. Instead of talking about the past, tell her who you want to become.

Bio #43: Keywords Are Your Cinderella Slipper

“Just your average 6’2” man trying to go rock climbing for a first date, bowling on a second, and make love on the third.

What are my hobbies you ask? Painting with a craft brew in hand, making fun of Republicans, celebrating 4/20 every other weekend, running multiple 5ks a week and basically personifying Chris Traeger.”

Artfully use keywords throughout your bio. Tinder works by trying to place your profile in front of user’s that it believes you’re compatible with. It does so in part by using keywords.

Writing specific likes and dislikes on your profile is likely to get you paired up with users that used those same keywords on their profiles. Just be sure not to list out 30 things that you’re into.

Keyword vomiting may put your profile in front of women you’re compatible with, but it shows zero signs of personality. Humanize yourself by penning a profile in your own voice while utilizing keywords.

Bio #44: Let’s Talk About Our Future

“Just a list of first date ideas:

-Dress in matching koala onesies, go to the zoo, jump in the koala exhibit and become king and queen of the koalas

-Go to a karaoke bar and only sing K-pop songs

-Apply for Canadian citizenship

-Finding the meaning of life, then sell it on eBay for a million dollars

-Get coffee”

50% of Tinder profiles are blank. Another 25% are creepy. 20 more percent talk about their love for tacos and The Office.

Then there’s that paltry 5% of profiles that are actually good, that women actually read from beginning to end and elicit a genuine laugh. Making a woman literally laugh out loud is a guaranteed swipe right.

Bio #45: Keep The Good Times Rollin’

“Some of my friends say I’m too optimistic. I say they don’t understand that at any moment something amazing can happen… that’s why I always carry confetti around in my pocket.

It’s emergency confetti.”

This profile works because it’s so freakin’ adorably optimistic. Sure it’s a bit weird, but it touches on a great point. First impressions should always be positive.

Considering she’s got so little to go off of, why start out by pitching yourself in a negative light? No one wants to date a sad guy with low self-esteem. Turn up the charm and positivity by presenting yourself as the guy that everyone wants to be around.

Bio #46: Better Hold Your Breathe

“Just looking for someone willing to move to Thailand with and start a suba school together. So basically keeping it casual”

This is a curveball if I’ve ever seen one. What I love is that it tells her who you are, your plans, and that you’re a chill kind of guy. It paints a picture without listing out traits. It’s a 4.5/5.

Bio #47: Pros and Cons

“Pro: Was a college DJ

Con: Will always steal the aux and play obscure indie music.

Pro: Am learning the piano

Con: Plays the same three songs over and over again on piano

Pro: Will make you laugh

Con: Will also make women around you laugh

Pro: Just looking for my soulmate

Con: Just looking for my soulmate on Tinder”

List out via a pros and cons list what makes you unique. The key is to have the cons speak to the pros.

Bio #48: My Precioussss

“Just looking for someone to take a leisurely stroll to Mordor with as we return the one ring that rules them all”

Bring out your inner nerd!

Bio #49: Basics Lists < Greater/Less Than

“Indian > Mexican, Beyonce < The Beatles, Movies < Bowling, Skiing > Snowboarding, Trump < My blind dog Bartholomew”

Listing traits or details is cool and all but it’s been played. Spice things up and make your profile a little contentious by creating a  greater/less than list. I’m sure at least one comparison will strike a cord.

Bio #50: Use Man’s Best Friend

“I’m really just here because my puppy has been having issues at school and his teacher said he needs to socialize more. Down for a doggy date?”

It’s common knowledge at this point that users that post about their dogs get more matches than those that don’t. So use that little pooch of yours until you two are out on the town, tails wagging, and on your way to meet your new beau.

Bonus: A Tinder Bio You Should Never Replicate

tinder bios for guys 1

We’ve gone through a lot of awesome Tinder bios, but I couldn’t end this article without directing you to the type of bio you should avoid AT ALL COSTS.

Granted, this will make a woman stop and think — but for all the wrong reasons.

What does this even mean? Does this guy think the Mona Lisa looks like a woman who has a hand up her skirt? Why is she so calm about it, then? I just can’t.

If you craft a bio that is anything like this, a woman will do the following things:

-Stop

-Read the bio

-Squint in confusion

-Reread the bio

-Reread the bio AGAIN

-Swipe LEFT

Best Tinder Bio Formats for Guys

Before we jump into real-life bio examples, let’s first outline six bio formats that are proven to rack up matches.

The purpose of a written bio is to humanize yourself. In an app that reduces each user into a set of cards in a deck of eligible singles, appearing as anything other than superficial is a tough ask.

Using one of the following bio formats will display your personality and make you stand out against a backdrop of countless other bios.

Format 1: The Most Spontaneous Thing I’ve Ever Done

Tinder is a game. And in this game, the coolest guys win.

With the written portion of the bio, you’re given a space to wax poetic about your own accomplishments. Flex out those peacock feathers and show her why you’re better than the profile on either side of you.

One of the ways to catch her attention is to talk in superlatives. In this case, you’ll boast about the most spontaneous thing you’ve ever done.

To get the most out of this bio format, sift through your catalog of experiences in order to find one that would impress any Tinderella. Here are a few examples to tickle your inspiration.

Examples

Dave

“The most spontaneous thing I’ve ever done was take an impromptu vacation to Paris to watch a PSG soccer match. I flew back to the states just hours after the match ended in order to get watch an MLS game. Two soccer matches, two days, two different countries. After that day my bucket list got a little bit shorter.”

Sam

“The most spontaneous thing I ever did was move to San Francisco on a dare. Seven years later, I’m still here.”

Dylan

“The most spontaneous thing I ever did was cook mole negro for my family on Christmas. Some background, before cooking the mole I had mastered cooking delicacies such as toast and scrambled eggs. With scrambled eggs, toast, and now mole under my belt I’m now a bonafide chef.”

Whichever spontaneous act you choose to share just make sure it’s true. Fudging is acceptable but make sure that the meat of the spontaneous act is historically accurate.

Format 2: Two Short Descriptive Sentences + Emojis

Penning a written dating app bio from scratch should be treated like poetry.

Every single word short has a purpose. On average women spend between 3-6 seconds looking at a profile before swiping. This means she’s not going to spend an entire minute reading the 12-line profile you just wrote. When in doubt, keep her wanting more by keeping your profile pithy.

Examples

Juan

“Remember that guy that made eyes with you at the Vampire Weekend show, but before he could talk to you, you dipped out with your friends?

That guy was me. Hi, my name’s Dave. (emojis here)”

Kaloy

“Fluent in Espanol, Italiano, English, and JS.” (emojis here)

My ideal first date would include speaking about passerbys in other languages and pretending like we’re royals. Pinkies in the air! (emojis here)”

Matt

“Recent accomplishments include: Running my first 10k, crowd surfing, and learning the piano.

Recent failures include: Fainting after my first 10k, losing my wallet while crowd surfing, and not being able to get chopsticks out of my head. (emojis here)”

Format 3: Going Three Levels Deep

Let’s not forget that Tinder reduces you to a playing card. To make her think of you as anything other than just another card in a deck of singles you’ll have to dig deep.

Going three levels deep means conveying more than the bare minimum. It means being able to paint a picture of who you are in just a few strokes.

Instead of saying that you love pizza, tell her that you make your own, that you despise deep-dish, and that you dream about spontaneously skipping off to Italy to dine on Naples’s finest. To help you visualize what a successful three-level profile looks like, here are a few examples.

Examples

Leo

“My perfect Sunday includes morning tennis, Scrabble, playing a bingo in Scrabble, winning Scrabble, and then night tennis. O yeah, and milk duds, lots of milk duds.”

Kobe

“I love tacos… but allow me to elaborate.

While studying abroad in Mexico City I had my first authentic pastor taco. But when I came back to the states I could only find hard shell tacos (i.e. not tacos). So I bought myself a spit, marinated some pastor meat, and made tacos a Sunday fixture at my place.

I eat my tacos con todo. And yes, that includes pineapple, I’m not a heathen.”

Doug

“One time I took a hike through Muir Woods. That one time turned into two times, two turned into three, and now I’ve hiked Muir Woods over three hundred times. Now I curate hiking expeditions. Hmm, I wonder how that happened.”

Format 4: Use Humor Or Self Deprecation

With so many guys all too willing to self-aggrandize, some self-deprecating behavior is refreshing. And as for constructing a humorous profile, it should go without saying that a little bit of wit and charm should be used in every profile.

Examples

Chuck

“Listen, I don’t want to brag, but I once picked a movie to watch on Netflix in under 30 minutes.”

Wayne

“Can someone tell me how to lower the difficulty settings on Tinder?”

Alex

“My biggest fear is that men’s rights advocates will convince Amazon to make a male version of Alexa. No I won’t play Don’t Stop Believing!”

Format 5: The Biggest Risk I’ve Taken

No one is swiping through Tinder hoping that they’ll find a Netflix addict so that they can waste away their lives binging all the latest series. She wants someone that will improve her, surprise her, and that will bring her out of her comfort zone.

Convince her that you’re her guy by writing about all the craziest risks you’ve ever taken.

Examples

Marcus

“I’m allergic to shrimp.

But once when I was nine I knowingly ate an entire plate of grilled shrimp. I’d like to say that I’ve put my daring ways behind me, but I still eat shrimp every chance I get. Eating shrimp is in itself a pricey habit, but just imagine how much more expensive it is if every time you eat shrimp you also need a side order of epinephrine.

Seafood anyone? I’ll bring the EpiPen.”

David

“The biggest risk I’ve even taken was telling my parents that I was an atheist. On the one hand, I got to stop going to church, on the other, there’s a .000001% chance that I’ll burn in hell for eternity. A fair tradeoff. ”

Hector

“The biggest risk I’ve ever taken was moving to Mexico after college. Everyone thought I was going to be kidnapped by narcos. Instead, I just became fluent in Spanish, learned how to make chilaquiles, and became an expert salsa dancer. Anyone up for hitting the dance-floor?”

Format 6: I’m Regular At…/Change of Direction

“What makes jokes so funny is their change of direction. What makes a successful Tinder profile is your ability to make her laugh. When in doubt, always use humor to attract more matches.”

Examples

Rick

“So my girlfriend said she wanted to break up with me because I had no sense of direction.

So I packed my things and right.”

Sai

“You ever go on a date that completely changed your life?

Me neither. Up for perpetuating your romantic disappointment?”

David

“I’m regular at marathon racing against horses. I usually only beat a few. And yes this is a real thing, haven’t you ever listened to Radiolab?”

A Quick Note On Tinder Photos

Look your bio could have been written by Rumi himself but if your photos are meh, she’s not gonna stick around to read your bio.

With that in mind, you’ll want to create and choose a photo roster that she can’t say no to.

To get a sense of what that looks like we turned to Saskia Nelson, founder of Hey Saturday,  an online dating photography agency.

Taking the perfect photo is a complex process.

To keep things simple she advises that your photos do three things:

  1. Be eye-catchingly good
  2. Showcase you looking attractive and confident
  3. Show people what it’s like to date you

Speaking to the first point Saskia says,

“Good quality visual content is the easiest way to drive up engagement with your profile, so make sure you only use good quality photos (lose any blurry, dark, messy, low-res, pixilated shots).”

When it comes to projecting confidence and sex appeal it’s all about…

“Make sure you choose photos with open body language, which is a powerful way to showcase confidence, and select photos where you know you’re looking and feeling really good about yourself. Open body language ensures that you take up space in your photos too. No hunching in on yourself or hugging arms around your body, but standing tall and owning it.”

Lastly, she stresses showing people what dating you looks like. But who exactly do you do this?

“Props are such an easy way to tell people more about who you are. Our clients typically might bring a bike or a yoga mat, a guitar, their skateboard, their favourite book, a bouquet of flowers, headphones, a sketchbook, boxing gloves, their camera etc etc. Think of them as your story-telling super power – an easy win to create a compelling profile photo.”

46 Best Dating Profile Examples for Guys

dating profile examples for guys

A third of Americans ages 18-44 have used dating apps.

Despite being widely disliked, dating apps still stalk single men and women around like an ex-lover in need of a restraining order.

Hate or love them, dating sites and apps are home to more single women than every college campus in the USA combined.

So you have two options. One is to go the way of the luddite and eschew dating apps in favor of meeting women IRL. Or you suck it up and join the party being attended by more single females of age than are located in the entire state of California.

Now that I have your attention, it’s time to begin.

Just because there are a ton of singles females using dating apps, it doesn’t necessarily mean your odds of finding a mate are high.

Because while men are more than generous when it comes to who they swipe right on, women tend to be a bit pickier. This is because men far outnumber women on dating apps. This scarcity grants women the ability to be a bit more choosy when it comes to who they swipe right on.

According to one study, the most attractive 78% of women only swiped right on the top 20% of men. That means that if you’re not an 8/10 on the attractive scale, it’s likely that you won’t be notching many matches. That is of course unless you know how to create a quality profile.

We’ll show you everything you need to know about creating an amazing dating profile in our Dating Decoded program. You’ll learn which photos to choose, how to take amazing photos, swiping strategy, and much more. But before you enroll let’s give you a taste of what’s to come by examining what makes the following profiles so swippable.

Best Dating Profile Examples for Guys

Dating apps are all about constructing an image that the female users find more favorable than competing profiles.

This means giving a damn about your bio as well as photos. To help you construct a profile that’s worthy of a swipe right we’re going to show you 38 of the best dating profile examples for guys.

Best Dating Profile Examples for Guys #1: Fantasize Together

Women want to know where you’re going. Dating a dude that’s going nowhere may have been nice during high school, but now that the women around you are all grown up they’ll want to invest in a man that has his life figured out. This profile is brilliant because it allows the reader to bask in the fantasy of the user. Who would oppose to retiring in 8 years, raising Ivy League children, and marrying their best friend? Even if you don’t have your life completely figured out, a fantasy profile such as this one gives her a sense of who you are as well as where you’re going.

#2: Shows Character While Making You LOL

best dating profile examples for guysI know exactly who his guy is. He doesn’t write a litany of things of traits trying to convince me of who he is. Instead, he illustrates his character by penning a little scenario in which he’s the hero that saves the spider instead of the villain that kills it with a flip-flop. As your 11th grade English teacher always used to say, “show, don’t tell.”

#3: Brief And To The Point

dating app profile examples for guysNo woman wants to spend time trying to figure a guy’s profile out. They don’t want to read ambiguous relationship goals, rather they prefer someone like Eric. Eric tells it to me straight. He doesn’t have kids, has never married, and is looking for a serious relationship. That’s all valuable information that a woman wants to know before a first date. But he doesn’t just talk about his relationship goals, he also tells the reader about his hobbies. He’s clearly trying to attract a certain type of woman.

#4: Bold & Creative

dating app profile examples for menThis is a bold profile. Sure it’s humorous, but it’s also a bit weird. I mean the guy calls markets himself as a “cybernetic companion.” He is only able to pull it off because of the humor. Creativity is what you need to stand out. Just don’t stand out as the creepy guy.

Best Dating Profile Examples for Guys #5: Brief

dating profiles for menHer swipe finger is on fire. The average women logs onto Tinder about 11 times a day spending 8.5 minutes per session swiping for Mr. Right. She isn’t leisurely swiping during these sessions. Like the screen-addicted single woman she is, she’s not wasting time reading through profiles that have bios longer than a paragraph. Sure this male user didn’t put a ton of effort into writing his profile. However, he does write just enough to attract the attention of the average female swiper.

#6: Don’t State the Obvious

dating profile examples for guysYou be the judge. Would you imagine this profile to rack up the likes, or be tossed aside like a multitude of other pedestrian profiles? It can be tough to tell, but if you examine each sentence individually you’ll see that this bio is just collage of sappy romantic cliches. Sure if she sees this just after having read any Nicholas Sparks novel she may go for it, everyone else with vehemently run to the bathroom, barf, and then swipe left.

#7: The Curveball

funny dating profile examplesEach dating profile calls for a dash of surprise. In the profile above, that surprise presents itself in the form of opium smoking. The first two nouns describing himself are underwhelming, but just when you think this profile won’t be worth reading you see the words, “opium smoker.” The profile works because it’s got a balance of surprise and banality. Just be sure that you never come across as a heavy drug user.

#8: He Lives IRL

exampleMost matches stay matches. Rarely do two people that have matched on a dating app ever meet up IRL. This person clearly wants to buck that trend. From his profile, we glean that he’s adventurous and wants that adventure to include the reader. Allow your reader to fantasize about future events with you. Who doesn’t want to take a spontaneous trip around the world or hike an epic mountain?

#9: Balance & Humor

dating app profilesThe perfect profile is akin to the one you just read. It uses pithy humor to showcase who the man user is. When you’re competing against literally thousands of other men, you can’t afford to write a boring dating profile. Stand apart by demonstrating who you are with wit.

Best Dating Profile Examples for Guys #10: Acknowledges The Game

This profile would’ve been kind of lame had that first line not been included. This elevator pitch makes the reader stick around. She can spare less than 10 seconds to read a profile. A profile shouldn’t be an essay. A bio must be nothing more than a joking boast or two and an illustration of who you are.

#11: Meh

dating profiles for menI’ll give this guy credit, he gives me something to latch onto. If I’m anyone of the things he listed I may be interested and want to learn more. However, this will likely only be the case if he attached his IG. If you’re a writer, poet, and artist, why is it so hard for you to write a compelling profile? Would Henry Miller ever write a profile like this?

#12: Highlight Your Advantages

dating app profiles for guysLet’s say you’re a 5’6 entrepreneur. One of those facts doesn’t deserve highlighting. I’m not suggesting you lie, but until you’re viewed as more than a virtual card that she can swipe into the abyss, only make known what’s great about you. Women love ambitious entrepreneurs. And after getting to know who you are, she’ll probably love short dudes too.

#13: Direct

examples of dating profiles for guysThis is the perfect dating profile example of a man that doesn’t want to waste the female user’s time. By letting it be known he’s a father and man of faith he’s broadcasting to a certain audience. The net he’s thrown is specifically designed to catch only certain users.

#14: Unabashed Personality

This guy isn’t afraid to show his true colors. The issue is that those colors resemble those found in the toilet the morning after you’ve wolfed down chicken wings dipped in devil sauce. Look, this profile will work for some women, but very few. Most women aren’t into guys that wear sweatpants to the bar. They also don’t want to date someone that’ll put them behind two dogs in the pecking order. He’s obviously segmenting his audience, which can be a good thing when MegaDating.

#15: Hilarious -Yes, I’m Laughing At You

When I read this profile I picture a personal trainer that’s simultaneously yelling motivational cliches while trying to score my number. It’s jarring. That first line starts off so well, but then he shifts up the tone by yelling at me. Also hot tip for guys, never use exclamation points at work or when talking to females you don’t know. We read it as an angry man yelling at us. That’s not how you get my number.

#16: The Tinder X-mas Tree

This is what I like to call a x-mas tree. It’s ornamented with tons of sparkling trinkets that are meant to catch your attention. If you don’t like Aretha Franklin, maybe you’ll be attracted to Smashing Pumpkins or Napoleon Dynamite. While it helps identify similarities, a mutual admiration for Hemingway is shallow and doesn’t give me a solid indication of how compatible we really are.

Funny Dating Profile Examples for Guys

Funny Dating Profiles Example #17: A Genuine LOL

funny dating profile examples for guysListing out your likes and dislikes as if your profile were a shopping list is easy. Writing an original one-liner that makes me laugh is difficult. Wit is a sign of intelligence. Show her that you’re funny and smart, don’t list it. While brief, Derek’s profile is worthy of a swipe right.

#18: Playful Boasting

funny dating profile example for guysDating applications are the perfect place to boast. Especially if those boasts are playful.

#19: Equilibrium

funny dating profilesIf the profile contained just those first two sentences it’d be humorous but not swipe worthy. The last sentence provides the necessary amount of upbeat shading that this profile needs in order to score some matches.

#20: Self-Depreciation

dating funny profiles for menSelf-deprecating humor works, but only if it’s balanced. Perhaps that balance comes from your photos or IG account. The point is that you can’t just joke about how you’re bad at everything. Self-deprecation can only come after she truly knows that you’re not in fact bad at everything.

Funny Dating Profiles Example #21: Don’t Be Cliche

This is funny… for those that haven’t heard it before. Many men claim that a committee in their head voted them the best date. It’s almost as cliche as female users salivating over tacos. Avoid cliches or be ready to receive fewer matches.

#22: Concise, Funny, Revealing

funny dating profile examples for guysOne line about the man’s profession and another about his fears. It’s direct and playful -the female user doesn’t have time for anything else.

#23: Make Fun Of Dating

dating profiles for menWe all know how absurd modern dating is. We post our romantic resumes online and peruse them while on the toilet. This user makes fun of modern dating and gets a laugh out of you by the end of it. The process of dating is awkward, don’t be embarrassed to acknowledge it.

#24: Put Words In Her Mouth

dating profilesQuoting her feelings about you is ballsy, just don’t be too cocky about the quote.

#25: Drive-By Lover

A brief and funny dating profile example for guys. All women want to do is chuckle, thanks Chuck.

Funny Dating Profiles Example for Guys #26: Accelerated Bonding

Accelerate a bond by talking about your future life together. Just make sure it’s a happy fantasy.

 #27: Personality Shines Through

Let your personality shine through. That’s the point of a dating profile. We don’t need to know everything about you, only that you’re worth swiping right on.

Witty Dating Profile Examples for Guys

Witty Dating Profile Examples for Guys #28: Animals Always Win

witty dating profiles for guysIt’s proven that pictures with animals get more likes than the average photo on Hinge.

If photos with animals get liked, double your odds of a match by talking about them too.

#29: Entertain Us

witty dating profile examples for guysPeter sounds more like a dude I’d like to kick it with than a buddy, but at any rate this profile persuades me to give him a chance and meet him IRL.

#30: Foodie

witty dating profilesEveryone’s a foodie nowadays. It seems like there are now more shows on Netflix about foods than sitcoms -how did that happen? At any rate, food jokes (and food confessions) are not en vogue.

Witty Dating Profile Examples for Guys #31: LMAO

For once I wish someone would write a dating bio worth reading to the end. Oh look at that, wish granted.

#32: Flaunt Your Good Side

Hey man, women like tall dudes, that’s just a fact. Don’t suppress your most appealing aspects, flaunt them.

#33: Twist And Turns

creative dating profile examples for guysThe profile starts off cheesy with the use of a cliche. But then the user goes on to remix various romance cliches. Well done, sir, women will appreciate the curveball.

#34: Shared Interests

This guy’s casting a wide net. Coffee drinkers far and wide will consider swiping right based on just this one shared commonality.

#35: What A Gentleman

unique dating profile examples for guysTalk about a man that will take a bullet for you.

Witty Dating Profile Examples for Guys #36: I’m Lost And Don’t Want To Be Found

Of course, we don’t know how tall these men are, but it doesn’t matter. The association is a plus and the giggle was appreciated as well.

#37: Thanks For The Picture

Making fun of his masculinity shows this guy can take a joke.

#38: Talk About A Busty Man

This guy wrote his dating profile with his chest out. Inflated or not female users still want to swipe this guy, if anything just to find out which is the lie.

#40: Tell Her About Your Sunday

best dating profiles

She wants specifics. As a complete stranger, she won’t agree to meet you IRL until she has at least an inkling of your personality. Show her who you are by providing specifics.

It can be easy to just list out a bunch of hobbies as this profile above almost does. But instead of a list we see these activities more so in the light of a story. Each line connects with the one above creating a narrative rather than a litany of things.

#41: Weed Out Women That Aren’t Ready For You

Don’t waste your time trying to attract women that don’t want to date men with children.

Your children will obviously be the priority. You won’t throw them in a corner to make way for some stranger from Bumble. Let it be known you’re a proud father. This will weed away incompatibles and attract those that are ready for a serious relationship with a father.

#42: Flex Those Fatherly References

best dating profiles

Be topical and throw in plenty of fatherly references.

Be proud that you’re a divorced father in his 40s. If you’re going to put yourself out there you might as well do so in style.

#43: Show Off

best dating profiles

Don’t hide who you really are.

You’re old enough to know who you are and to be comfortable with your obscure likes and dislikes. Don’t waste your time trying to attract a woman that isn’t interested in what gets you jazzed.

#44: Nicholas Sparks Himself Would Swoon

best dating profiles

Awww.

Just because you’re pursuing older women doesn’t mean they’re not into sappy lines.

#45: Finally A Man That Doesn’t Play Games…

best dating profiles

Stand out from the rest by putting a twist on stale cliches. So many men write the same platitudes in their profiles. This user switches things up by injecting a little wit into a cliche dating app line.

#46: Seems Like You Two Have A Lot In Common

best dating profiles

A high-quality dating app profile for an older man is funny, makes their interests known, and is direct.

Far too many men are window shopping on dating apps.

Women have taken note.

They yearn for a direct man that wants to take them on a real date.

Be that man.

Dating Profile Photo Tips for Guys

A dating profile is important, but it’s not complete without a solid lineup of photos. When choosing your roster of photos here are some things you’ll want to keep in mind.

  • The first photo should always be of just yourself. Save the group shots for later. Don’t wear glasses or hats and keep your shirt on (yes even if you have a six-pack).
  • Puppy picks kill. A Hinge study found that pictures that included animals were much more likely to be liked than the average Hinge photo.
  • Be sporty. Women like dudes that play sports. I’m not talking about ping-pong, but contact sports like soccer and rugby.
  • If your buddy is better looking than you, don’t use the photo.
  • Display at least one photo of yourself traveling abroad.
  • Demonstrate who you are. Everyone uses the same types of pictures. Spice things up by posting pictures that reveal your true character.
  • NO SELFIES!

How to Make Her Miss You & Stay Interested When She’s Leaving Town for Several Weeks

how to make her miss you stay interested

You’re in the beginning stages of dating an awesome woman and things couldn’t be going better. The problem?

She’s going out of town for several weeks and you’re wondering if that distance will turn the fire in between you two into ashes. If you’re wondering how to make her miss you and how to keep her interested, you’ve come to the right place.

There are several strategies you can use to make sure you stay on her mind without coming off as clingy or anxious.

First: What is the Status of Your Relationship?

Before deciding the right strategies to use, assess the status of your relationship. Ask yourself:

  • Have you been on at least three dates with this woman?
  • Have you been physically intimate?
  • Did you already have a discussion and decide that you want to date each other exclusively?

Assuming that you two are exclusive and things have been going well, there probably isn’t too much you need to worry about, despite the fact that she will be gone for several weeks.

Distance can actually make the heart go fonder, as they often say. Still, you need to use the strategies below to make her miss you, keep her interested, and also make sure that she knows you’re still interested.

But let’s say you haven’t been on more than a couple dates with her, haven’t been intimate and are not exclusive. Since you like her a lot, you definitely want to use the strategies below to keep her interested, but you also need to make sure you’re not putting all your eggs in one basket.

Before making a commitment to someone, I always recommend my clients use MegaDating to help them reach their dating goals. MegaDating is a dating strategy that involves going on dates with several different people at the same time in order to diffuse your energy and keep your calendar full.

MegaDating is not about being dishonest or sneaking around on somebody. It is a strategy that shows you there are plenty of fish in the sea and prevents you from settling for someone who isn’t a compatible partner.

If you have been out on a couple of dates with a girl and they go out of town, MegaDating will reduce your anxiety and lessen the fear of rejection. This isn’t to say that the girl you’ve just started seeing if going to forget about you simply because she’s out of town.

But you won’t be ruminating about the hypothetical death of relationship by travel because you’re already hanging out with other girls who could potentially make good partners.

Strategies for Making Her Miss You While She’s On Vacation

#1: How Do You Not Seem Desperate?

Whether or not you are exclusive, it’s important that you don’t show her any symptoms of being a stage 5 clinger. Just because she’s out of town for several weeks doesn’t mean she’s going to automatically forget you and move on — it’s several weeks, not several years.

To avoid seeming desperate, avoid the following things:

  • Screaming “DON’T FORGET ABOUT ME!!” as you chase her departing plane down the runway
  • Telling her you’re worried that she is not going to be interested in you after leaving — keep that to yourself
  • Bombarding her with text messages and/or calls
  • Ruminating over what she’s doing, who she’s seeing
  • Chronically checking her social media accounts to make sure she’s not banging a bunch of dudes on her vacation

Think about if you really liked a girl and had to go out of town for a while. Wouldn’t you prefer her to trust that you’re not going to up and forget about her simply because you’re out living life?

Another way you can avoid being desperate, aside from MegaDating if you’re not exclusive, is to keep your calendar full with other activities. Spend time with friends, go to the gym and find fun things to do while she’s away.

If you stay busy, this will keep you from the temptation of blowing up her phone and will also make those several weeks pass by quickly.

Strategy #2: How Long Should I Wait to Text Her?

how to make her miss you 2

When trying to figure out how to make her miss you, I’m sure you’re thinking “I’ll just text her right away and every so often.” But your first text to her depends on the status of your relationship.

If you’ve decided to make an exclusive commitment and have been dating for a long enough period of time that things are hot and heavy, I’d say text her when her plane is scheduled to land to tell her that you hope she had a safe flight and to wish her a lot of fun times during her vacation.

If you’ve only been on a couple of dates with this woman, make sure that before she leaves (i.e., the last time you see her in person before her trip) that you let her know you want her to have an awesome trip. You definitely DO NOT want to initiate a text convo with her while she’s away. Don’t do it. If she’s on vacation, let her start a text convo with you.

Strategy #3: Won’t She Forget About Me if I Don’t Keep Myself Fresh in Her Mind?

Nope. It may seem counterintuitive, but pulling back a bit and doing your own thing while she’s away will actually make her think about you more.

Like I said, if your strategy is to bombard her with texts and attempt to virtually hitch a ride on her trip, she’s going to feel smothered and lose interest.

Strategy #4: How Do I Keep the Spark Alive While She’s Gone?

how to make her miss you 3

Let’s say that she initiates a conversation with you while she’s on vacation. When that happens, enjoy some light banter about what you both are up to. That’ll keep the spark alive.

You’re showing interest without giving her the upper hand and signaling that you’re lost in this great, big world without her constant presence.

Another thing you can do is to send a photo of something that has to do with your shared interests or inside jokes you two have developed through rapport.

Strategy #5: What if You Don’t Hear From Her for Weeks?

If you haven’t heard from her in weeks, then there’s a good chance this relationship/potential relationship is a no-go.

There is one exception to this rule that I will mention at the bottom of the article, but if someone’s into you, they will — and should — respond to you.

If she doesn’t reach out while she’s on her vacation, it’s not the end of the world. She’s likely busy with daily activities, right? I get it – it still sucks.

BUT, no matter how bad that sucks, don’t respond by blowing up her phone or jumping to crazy conclusions (and VERBALIZING said conclusions via text or calls), like she fell in love with her Uber driver or something.

Spend time living your own life by going out with friends and — if you two are not exclusive — MegaDating while she’s away.

Strategy #6: Should I Text Her the Day Before She Gets Back to Set Up a Date?

Absolutely!

Follow the tips I have listed thus far to make sure that you keep the spark going without disrupting her time away.

The day before she gets back, make some solid plans to get together that are compelling. Don’t simply say, “Let’s hang out when you get back,” or put the pressure on her by asking, “So is there anything you feel like doing when you get back?”

Use a TDL to give her a date idea that she basically can’t say “no” to. TDL is an acronym for the “Time, Date and Location” that serves as a date’s call-to-action. An example of asking a girl on a date by using a TDL would be:

“Hey [insert name of girl you’re dating here]. I remember you mentioning that you are thinking about adopting a dog now that you’ve gotten settled in your new apartment.

There’s going to be a Yappy Hour at [place that holds this] on Saturday, July 12 at 5 pm. How would you like to go with me and have a few craft brews while we meet some pups?”

Notice that, by using a TDL, you are showing consideration for her time by doing all the work for her. She doesn’t have to worry about doing a back-and-forth with you about getting reservations or coming up with a time that works for both of you. This type of consideration is super chivalrous, which women always appreciate.

The date idea is also compelling because it speaks to her interests and is also introducing her to a new experience.

When you use TDL and craft compelling date ideas that are tailored to a woman’s personality, you’re way less likely to get rejected and more likely to build chemistry with a potential long-term partner.

The last thing you want to do here — is to text her on her travel day. Always text her the day before you know she arrives home.

Strategy #7: Should I Text Her When She Lands?

how to make her miss you 4

No.

Again, you don’t need to overplay your hand or send her a novella via text about how much you’ve missed her. You’ve sent your TDL and — hopefully — the rapport has continued while she was away.

25 “We’ll Get Along If” Answers You Can Use on Hinge

we'll get along if answers hinge

If you’re a Hinge user, you’ve no doubt seen this “We’ll get along if” prompt before.

we'll get along if

You’re likely acquainted with it because it’s probably Hinge’s most popular prompt.

It’s one of the few prompts that allows users to explicitly give the reader the keys to their heart.

A good answer also has the ability to quickly humanize the user by talking about a hobby or love of theirs. In the earliest stages of the online courting phase, vibing on a shared interest is crucial.

In this article, we’ll offer 25 examples of answers to Hinge’s most popular prompt that will both humanize your profile and help you get matches.

But first, let’s talk about why Hinge is different than other apps.

The Dating App Designed To Be Deleted

These words aren’t mine, they’re Hinge’s.

It’s a good slogan and one that isn’t 100% BS.

Unlike most other dating apps, Hinge can at least pretend to genuinely want to find you a long-term romantic partner.

I say that for a number of reasons.

Here’s a list of them:

— The app requires users to answer at least 3 prompts

Dealbreaker search preference that filters out undesirables

— Only 10 likes per day (so you won’t become addicted to the app)

— Your Turn feature that prods users into responding to messages

— According to Hinge, 75% of those that dated someone they met on Hinge wanted to go on a second date with that person

Hinge basically limits the amount of time you can spend on the app, has hyper-specific search preferences, and even reminds singles to return messages so as to avoid ghosting.

It’s for these reasons that Hinge users are more interested in finding a long-term partner rather than a hookup (which is totally in line with emlovz). This is evidenced in its userbase, as we see Hinge is the most used dating app for those in the 30-49 age bracket.

we'll get along if

After users have emotionally graduated from Tinder and Bumble they download Hinge.

But just because you may now be swiping through a pool of singles whose romantic goals align with yours doesn’t mean you’ll be racking up the matches.

To get the most out of the app you’ll have to put together a killer profile.

Doing so includes providing a sharp answer to Hinge’s most popular prompt.

The Top 25 We’ll Get Along If Answers for Hinge

Your mission when answering these prompts is to show off your personality.

It’s something I’ve been cramming into the heads of my students in my dating coach service for years.

As of now, you’re just another card in a deck of random guys that women are most likely swiping through on their daily commute.

To stand out you’ll have to let your personality show.

You can do this by appearing witty and/or by showing a woman what your interest are.

The, “we’ll get along if” prompt is perfect for this.

To show you how to maximize your likes we’ll give you 25 examples of awesome answers — we encourage you to steal these.

we'll get along if

Let’s be serious, going to a brewery and drinking a few IPAs is one of the most common first dates. We all know that’s what you’ll ultimately ask her to do, so why not plant the seed by being honest about your interests. The good thing is because this is so common an interest she’ll likely be down and will like your profile.

The boring alternative answer that conveys this is, “you like craft beer.” But see how much more inviting and interesting my answer sounds compared to the banal one that so many guys end up writing?

we'll get along if

This tell her not only what you’re looking for, but who you are. You’re the kind of guy that speaks multiple languages, is receptive to new cultures, is educated, smart likes to explore, and of course, can flirt in multiple languages. It says so much in just 6 words.

we'll get along if

Everyone’s a foodie nowadays. Telling her you like Mexican food won’t get you a like. However, boasting that you’re a chef is taking it to the next level. Even if you’re not a chef yourself be specific. Don’t just tell her you like eating food, but specifically which restaurant, what type of food, etc. Attraction can be found in the details.

we'll get along if

We all love forming tribes.

Etsy is just one of the many tribes you can be a part of. What’s powerful about this Hinge answer is that it references a platform that only so many know about and use. This platform has a cult-like following. Referencing it will immediately build a strong connection with the single woman reading it. If you’re think isn’t Etsy, fine. Find that obscure tribe that you belong to and reference it on your profile.

Are you a knitter, Malcolm Gladwell fan, bouldering fanatic, etc.? These are all tribes. Chances are if someone else is in this tribe you’ll have more than one shared interest and will be attracted to each other.

we'll get along if

We learn two things from this post.

One is that you’re considerate. Sharing an armrest on a long flight is only second to letting a homeless person sleep on your couch.

Second, it shows that you’re a world traveler and that you either have been or want to go to Argentina. This is not only a conversation starter but a status and lifestyle symbol.

Lastly, it’s funny. Armchair jousting is a real thing and one that’s a common talking point for frequent travelers. No doubt she’ll be able to visualize your answer when she reads it.

we'll get along if

Remember those tribes we were talking about?

The brushes-teeth-in-shower-person is another tribe.

I’ll be honest, this answer doesn’t say much about who the person is, however it does show character. You have as many prompts as you want (or like 5) to show your interests and point out deeper aspects of your personality. That being said using a prompt to showcase personality is never a bad idea.

we'll get along if hinge

Again, when in doubt make her laugh out loud.

We’ll get along if funny answers most always convert a stranger to a date.

This post not only shows a bit of character but it also signals that you’re not into wild Q-Anon conspiracy theories. This quickly filters out anyone that thinks the world is being run by a giant cabal of child molesters.

we'll get along if

True crime podcast lovers will understand the interest, like it, and subsequently, go out with you.

Well, at least I’m more certain of this than I am that Adnan did it.

we'll get along if

Sure soccer’s gaining traction in the US, but it’s still like the 4th most popular sport. Showing her that you’re a footy for fútbol will give you major points if she too is a soccer fan.

Here’s the thing though, even if not every woman is into what you’re into, that’s okay. You don’t want to attract every single woman. You only want to attract women that you’re attracted to.

we'll get along if

Who doesn’t love a good John Mayer song?

Well, I mean, not all women do but that’s okay, they’re probably not your type anyway.

we'll get along if

Everyone loves bonding over their pet peeves. Tell her what yours are.

Studies show that bonding over things you two hate is actually super effective.

we'll get along if

Hinge did a study a while back.

They found that users with profiles that included dog photos received more likes than the average profile. Take a hint from the study and drop a dog pic or two in your profile.

This prompt response doubles down on the attraction your dog drums up for you. It’s also an easy talking point for a woman to latch onto, one that can easily be leveraged into asking her you to a dog park on your first date.

we'll get along if

The more boring version of this prompt response (the one that doesn’t get liked) might read, “you like live music.”

Gentlemen.

What I wrote above is nothing amazing. It is however a Hinge answer that you can tell the writer put effort into thinking about. That little bit of effort could be the difference between you and every other guy on the app.

When penning a profile, write 5 or so answers for each prompt then choose the best one.

That’s what the best writers do.

we'll get along if

Politics are more polarizing than ever before.

Pew Research shows that people are now more wary of dating someone outside their political party than someone outside their race or religion.

There’s no bigger tribe than your political party — nor is there a better filter.

If you’re super politically active and one’s political leanings are a make or break you’ll want to post a political answer in your profile.

we'll get along if

Just because you’re using “the dating app designed to be deleted” doesn’t mean what you’re looking for aligns with the app’s slogan.

Being upfront about what you’re looking for can filter out women that aren’t into at least entertaining the idea of a long-term relationship. Even on more serious dating apps like Hinge, women still want to be assured that the person they’re speaking with wants something more substantial than a one-night romper.

we'll get along if

Fact. Bears eat beets. Also a fact: everyone loves The Office. From Kim Jong Un to your new Hinge match.

And while you could write, “We’ll get along if you like The Office” doing so is cliche. Spice things up just a tad by showing her that you’re a diehard Office fan.

we'll get along if

Now that’s a feeling worth capturing.

Sure it’s a little weird, but that little bit of weirdness can help you stand out.

we'll get along if

Open up to her man.

Tell her who you really are.

If she’s weirded out, fine, you’ve probably dodged someone that you’re not compatible with — congrats.

we'll get along if

This tells her more so about your idiosyncrasies than hobbies, life goals, or more substantial personality characteristics — but that’s okay.

Not every Hinge answer needs to reveal something profound about who you are. Some just need to be vivid enough to make her realize that you too are a human inhabiting the same world she is.

we'll get along if

Alternatively, you could write, “We’ll get along if you know who Michael Barbaro is.”

The Daily is the NYT’s daily 30-minute podcast that zeros in on one timely topic.

There is a devoted legion of listeners that tune in every day. There’s no doubt that other The Daily listeners that read this will like your prompt and will ultimately like you too.

we'll get along if

That’s right.

Have you ever gone hiking and felt like you were at a mobile concert in the woods rather than outside in the depths of the forest?

This is a common pet peeve among serious hikers. Sharing this tidbit not only tells her you’re into the great outdoors but also what type of hiker you are.

we'll get along if

Is it rational? Not really, but we all still do it.

Demonstrate your character but showing her your vulnerable and goofy side.

we'll get along if

There are dress people, there are t-shirt people, and then there are sock people.

Etsy people will surely understand the awesomeness of socks. If you can find yourself another sock-lover on Hinge you’ll surely score a first date.

Now you just need to find the right socks to wear.

we'll get along if

You’re a little cheeky, aren’t you?

No doubt you’d get along with people that have a weird fetish for people with your name.

Show her you’ve got a little sass and flirt to you by writing a sly Hinge response like this one.

well get along if

If there’s one way to quickly form a bond it’s to vibe out on your mutual dislike of something that appears to be so widely beloved.

Now, as a general rule, you’ll want to keep these answers positive. Stay away from words like hate, gross, or other negative adjectives.

We’ll get along if…

Now it’s time to, well, get along with some people.

Again, feel free to steal, plagiarize, alter, and create some Hinge answers of your own.

When penning your own be sure to answer this Hinge prompt as it’s one of, if not the most popular of all prompts.

If you’re still struggling to create an amazing Hinge profile that gets matches, consider asking for a little help.

30 Best Bumble Prompt Answers for Guys (with Screenshots)

best bumble answers for guys

For those of you who are always on the lookout for new and creative ways to stand out from the competition on dating apps, this article is for you. In it, I’m going to show you real examples of the best Bumble prompt answers to use in your profile.

You’ll also learn simple strategies for crafting funny and creative responses. I’ll even give you some super secret Bumble hacks to optimize for higher quantity and quality of matches. But for now, let’s start from the top.

The dating app Bumble recently introduced question prompts to their dating profiles. They likely borrowed the idea from Hinge, which uses a similar setup to make it easy for users to start more meaningful conversations over shared interests. If you’re an early adopter, I’d recommend jumping on the bandwagon before your male counterparts catch on.

A profile with targeted information is more attractive to a woman and is likely to win you more matches. I also have a hunch that specific keywords are used to match you with more compatible people. If my suspicion is correct, then it’s a good idea to use keywords that you want to share in common with the woman you’re looking to attract.

The Benefits Of Using Bumble’s New Prompts

Bumble’s new question prompts are also a much better way to get the conversation started than having to pull ideas out of thin air. The old model, which just had a bios section and photos is probably why so many women swiped right and then never actually messaged–they didn’t know what to say. Make it easy for her to reach out to you by adding excellent answers to the new Bumble prompts.

What’s important to keep in mind is choosing a prompt that showcases something that sets you apart. Whether it’s a question that inspires a funny response or one that elicits a crazy travel story, you always want to be thinking, how can I capture her attention and stand out?

But standing out isn’t the only thing you can do to guarantee your success on the app. Here’s a quick outline to demonstrate each level of success that’s available to you by strategically crafting an excellent Bumble prompt response.

Level 1/Beginner: Capture Her Attention & Stand Out

You can capture a woman’s attention and stand out when you provide thoughtful responses that include details relevant to you. So, rather than saying, “I like Netflix and travel,” you say “I just binge watched Easy and can’t wait for my trip to Argentina.”

Being specific and thoughtful with your Bumble prompt answers will win you more matches. The same is true if you can make her laugh with one of your answers or if your response pulls at her heartstrings (many examples below).

Level 2/Intermediate: Make It Easy For Her To Respond

Make your answer easy for her to respond to and compelling enough for her to want to message you. For example, should you choose the “Beach or Mountains” prompt and answer with “Beach,” it’s not super likely you’ll win a ton of responses because it’s not an answer that requires further explanation. It’s also not very intriguing. I’d imagine 50% of responses to this question would garner the same reaction.

You might try writing out your answers to all of the prompt responses in advance on a separate document and then scanning through to see which one is most likely to cull a reply. This strategy will win you more messages from women.

Level 3/Advanced: Speak To Your Intended Audience

Strategically select a question that speaks to the ideal type of woman you’re looking to attract. Do you know who that is? If so, do you know what topics she is most likely to respond to? That’s the key to level three.

If you’re not crystal clear on exactly what you want in your ideal girlfriend, then I can help. I work with my Signature clients to figure this out in session 1. If you’d like to learn more about that program, you can watch my webinar or book an intro session with me here.

Bait Your Hook With The Right Bait

Bait your hook with the right bait to improve the quality and compatibility of the women who match with you. Focus on capturing the attention of your most ideal type of woman, so you can filter out the ones who don’t peak your interest. Speaking directly to your intended audience, encourages more meaningful conversation, a higher degree of trust, and better dates.

Let’s now take a look at some of the best Bumble answers examples for guys I’ve found while researching this new feature.

Witty Bumble Answers #1: The Loud Typer

Good quality to have.

Witty Bumble Answers #2: An Inside Joke For People Who Like The Same TV Shows As You

Clever Bumble Prompt Answers“The Human Fund” is a fake charity used by George Costanza in the TV show Seinfeld. After getting a similar gift from his friend Tim Whatley, George gave out cards to his co-workers stating that a donation had all been made to a charity called “The Human Fund,” with the slogan, “Money For People.” Read more about it here.

This answer is an excellent example of an undercover way to attract women who share similar interests with you because they understand your specific reference. If you love Seinfeld enough to remember The Human Fund, and a woman shares that in common with you, she’ll swipe right on you and likely send a fun message that relates to that shared commonality. Imagine what else you two might connect on if you both enjoy that specific show?

All in all, I chose this answer because it demonstrates a unique character and makes me curious to learn more.

Funny Bumble Answers #10: Relatable & Funny

Funny Bumble Response for Biggest Pet Peeve

I honestly think the pet peeve category is the best because pet peeves are usually funny and you can showcase so much that is ridiculous and relatable. His answer makes me wonder if he means that he hates being on time or that he hates it when others aren’t on time, but the fact that I can relate to it is why I liked it.

Funny Bumble Answers #11: Awesome Mom Joke

Funny Bumble Answer for We'll Get Along IfWhile I don’t recommend using sexual innuendos in your profile because it’s out of sequence and might scare her off (even if she is sexually experienced and open), I did like a few things he did here.

-First, he’s specific and knows what he wants. That’s always sexy.

-Second, the mum thing was funny a) because who refers to themselves as mum outside of people with accents (and women love accents) and b) because his mum sounds f-ing hilarious and who wouldn’t love a hilarious mum-in-law with a cool accent.

-Third, I love that he calls out the rude things that people do. Girls who flake and ghost suck and he ain’t afraid to say so. Me likee.

Genuine & Heartwarming – Warm Fuzzy Bumble Answers

Writing something that makes a woman feel warm and fuzzy is always a good thing. Make a woman feel good about you, and you’re halfway to a first date. Check out these super genuine and heartwarming answers.

Genuine Bumble Answers #14: I Want To Hug Him

Genuine Bumble Answer to prompt My Third Grade Teacher Described Me As

Sharing a secret or a vulnerability is a powerful way to connect on a deeper emotional level. Everything in dating is about connecting emotionally. The reason why the perfect girl on paper might not be able to elicit the “butterflies in the stomach” or “weak in the knees” reaction is that logically she makes sense, but emotionally there’s nothing sensationally stimulating.

In dating, you always want to focus on your feelings, not your thoughts. Attraction is not logical; it’s sensational, literally. It’s all about how the other person makes you feel. When you share a secret or insecurity, it’s a display of emotion, not logic.

A woman cannot be logically reasoned into liking you. Doing what this guy did is a great way to build a deep connection rooted in trust. Additionally, sharing something vulnerable about yourself gives the other person permission to do the same, and that helps to foster more meaningful connections.

Genuine Bumble Answers #15: Preach

Authentic Bumble Answer for prompt If I could donate a million dollars it'd be to

This guy did a stellar job of demonstrating some of his values, which is great because it’s polarizing. If women strongly disagree with either of these institutions, they’ll self-select out of his dating funnel, whereas the women who feel strongly positive about them, will swipe right.

Additionally, bringing up an emotionally polarizing subject is a great way to stimulate a woman’s emotions and make her feel, not think. As mentioned above, dating is about sensations; it’s about how you feel. When you can elicit a strong emotional response, even if it’s not 100% positive, you are lightyears ahead of men who cannot.

The last thing you ever want to be is boring. It’s better to piss her off than to be forgettable. Don’t be afraid to show your true colors, even if it’s “politically incorrect.”

Sidenote: Keep It Positive; Nobody Likes A Negative Nelly

That said, this guy did an excellent job of keeping it positive, which I always encourage. Don’t say “Trump lovers can go F-themselves,” because then you look like a prick. Instead, try saying it differently, like “Proud Democrat” or “Pro-Feminist” (yep dudes can be feminists too).

You could even try a politically borderline response like “Looking for someone who can explain the “Me-Too” movement in a way that doesn’t make me question my masculinity.” The answer below does a good job of that.

Genuine Bumble Answers For Guys #16: The PC Response

Politically Correct Bumble Answer to prompt Equality to me means... Now you’re being honest but positive and demonstrating that you are open to differing opinions. Pretty powerful stuff and emotionally polarizing!

Genuine Bumble Answers #17: Deep But In A Good Way

Good Bumble Answer to Favorite Quality In A Person

What a great way of subtly saying, “I’m not into racism.” I love this so much I want to steal it myself.

Genuine Bumble Answers for Men #18: Sexy, I Don’t Know Why

Best Bumble Answers for Favorite Quality In A Person prompt

Heart-melting. This answer evokes an emotional response in me, and it tells me a lot about him. If you use this Bumble answer, I’d recommend thinking long and hard about exactly who you are looking to attract.

Getting crystal clear about precisely who to look for is the first thing I do with my clients. We create an ideal girlfriend profile that outlines all of the positive qualities they want in their perfect partner. Learn more here.

You might spend some time doing the same and getting clear about all of the characteristics you’re looking for in a mate. Then, choose the #1, most important quality and use it to answer the prompt “favorite quality in a person…”

P.S. Bumble Answer Hacks

I touched on this above, but I recommend using keywords that your ideal woman might use on her profile to describe herself. I have a well-researched hunch that part of Bumble’s matching algorithm relies on keyword matching (kind of like what Google uses to find users the most relevant content).

So if you say “loyalty” and she says “loyalty” somewhere in her profile, chances are the two of you will have the opportunity to match with one another.

Genuine Bumble Answers #19: OMG Warm Fuzzy Times A Million

Best Bumble Response for I Feel Most Empowered When prompt

Can someone get me a box of tissues, this one makes me want to cry, it’s so sweet. If ever there was a perfect way to express the fact that you have kids, this is it. Not only does he tell us he’s proud to be a father, but he also does it in a way that makes us all long for a parent like him. Wow, boyfriend–nope scratch that–total husband material.

If you do not see the emotional connection here, I’ll tell you this. Evolutionary theories suggest that women are hardwired to want a man who is a good father. If correct, then selecting a man who offers a high-degree of parental investment, is in our DNA, and we’ve evolved because of it. Even if a woman is not looking to have kids, she’s still hardwired to find a man who loves being a dad. I’d bet that this answer is charming to 99.9% of women regardless of whether they even like kids or not.

Genuine Bumble Answers #20: Real AF

I like that he’s been to a country that I haven’t been to and can appreciate the subtle differences. First off, what guy admits that he was obsessed with a chick-flick? I love his honesty. Gets me thinking about all the weird shit I did as a kid. Very funny, relatable, and specific. Now I want to talk to him to see what else he was obsessed with growing up.

Unique Bumble Answers #30: Qualifier

What To Say for Favorite Quality In A Person Question

This answer is an excellent example of how to use qualifiers on your profile. No one wants to attract people that don’t jive with them, but the pros make sure to filter for quality in advance of committing to an awkward first date.

Sure, this guy might turn off women who like to sit at home and watch The Hills, but good God isn’t that a win? Save yourself the agony of deciding whether to go out with a chick who’s hot but incompatible and filter her out before you ever come across her profile.

Trust me, using qualifiers will save you time, frustration, and money. Also, it’s polarizing for the women who are compatible with you because it speaks specifically to them. Last but not least, it’s super sexy when a guy knows what he wants and speaks to it right from the get-go. Raaaar.

15 “Swipe Right If” Answers to Dating App Prompts

Nowadays, everyone 35 and younger knows what “swiping right” means.

It’s now part of every single male and female’s lexicon, regardless if they’re on dating apps or not.

When you ask your friend if you’d swipe right on that taco, barista, apartment, etc. they know exactly what you’re getting at.

So it should make sense that the “Swipe right if…” prompt is one of Bumble’s most popular prompts.

swipe right if

If you’re one of the 42 million Bumble users, buzzing around the Hive you probably already know that to use Bumble you need to fill out three profile prompts.

The “Swipe right if…” prompt is one of the most popular for obvious reasons. It gives you — the single male in need of a date — a chance to either tell a woman what you’re looking for or to boast about your own qualities.

Unlike other apps, Bumble isn’t nearly as superficial as say Tinder for example.

I say this because, unlike Tinder, swipers are forced to scroll past written prompts in order to see more photos.

This design encourages users to actually read prompts, thus giving the user a chance to humanize themself.

That said, not all users — males in particular — take the opportunity to get the most out of these prompts.

In this article, we’ll show you how to create an amazing “Swipe right if…” response and score more matches.

Here we go!

Swipe Right If…

Regardless if you’re writing a prompt on Bumble, Tinder, or Hinge, your goal is always the same.

Your objective is to showcase your personality and to speak to a specific audience thus filtering out women that need not apply.

Do this by getting as specific as possible and by using humor.

Women decide not to swipe right either because the guy isn’t cute enough, or because she doesn’t have enough information about him.

She can’t hear his voice, imagine his jokes, or know anything about him.

Look, women can be kinda creeped out by dating apps and the men that use them.

As this Pew Research study shows, women don’t always have amazing experiences on dating apps.

Because of this, it’s your job as a man to assuage her of all her fears. Do this by making her as comfortable as possible.

But what does this look like exactly?

Here are some examples (I encourage you to steal them).

1) Only Real Travelers Need Apply

swipe right if

I’m sure you’ve noticed that everyone is into traveling nowadays.

No doubt you can identify a few cliche travel pics by now (Machu Pichu, Leaning Tower of Pita, hand-holding photo, etc.).

It’s okay to talk about traveling as long as you’re not being cliche and offering the reader insight into who you are.

Clearly, if you’re not into cruises you’re probably not into Applebees, Yatzy, or Ariana Grande either.

Cool.

Frankly, it doesn’t matter what your interests are as long as you make them clear.

2) You’re A Man Of Culture

swipe right if

Speaking more than one language is a sign of intelligence, depth of character, status, and sometimes is just plain sexy.

This is your chance to flaunt your stuff while also making it known what you’re looking for.

Let’s also not forget that when it comes to Bumble, women message first, and if they don’t message within the first 24 hours after a match the match gets deleted.

Women will only message if they’re inspired to do so. A woman that speaks more than one language will message you in that second language if you let it be known that’s what you’re looking for.

Don’t be afraid to list out the languages you speak in the form of emojis: “I can flirt with you in these languages 🇪🇸🇫🇷🇸🇪🇮🇹”

3) Don’t Be Afraid To Show Her Who You Really Are

swipe right if

This is what I like to call a segue prompt.

Ya see, the objective of a dating app is to actually go on a date.

The app itself is a space where two strangers can be introduced, it itself is not a space to date.

You want to get off the app as quickly as possible.

That’s easy to do when you two bond over a certain activity and then you (the male) proposes that you do that activity in person.

When asking a woman out be sure to use a TDL.

A TDL stands for time, date, location.

When asking a woman out you want to specify these three things.

A TDL might look something like, “Hey Janice, want to harmonize this Thursday at Crooner’s at 6 p.m.?”

This my friends this is how you ask a woman out. Give her something concrete she can sink her teeth into so she can then give you a very clear yes or no answer to.

4) What Kind Of Foodie Are You?

swipe right if

Everyone’s a foodie nowadays.

Talking about food is a good decision as long as you’re not discussing your love for tacos.

This is by and far one of the worst cliches on dating apps.

Talking about food is a low-hanging conversation starter. If she too is into Indian food she’ll react positively and hit you up asking what your favorite dish is. From here you’re only a few messages away from planning the first date.

Also, keep in mind that you have limited real estate to showcase your personality. Use every all the space afforded to brag about yourself.

By the way, bonus points will always be awarded to men who know how to cook.

5) Don’t ONLY Talk About Netflix

swipe right if

News Flash: Everyone watches Netflix.

Listing your favorite shows is a pretty lame way to set yourself apart from the crowd.

Two people vibing on their favorite shows is pretty shallow and something that anyone can do.

She doesn’t want just anyone, she wants a man that stands out.

Be that man by talking about your hobbies outside of sitting on your couch in the dark and binging The Office for five straight hours.

6) Tell Her About Your Personal Projects

swipe right if

I think it was TLC that best summed up what women want when they said, “Well a scrub checkin’ me, but his game is kinda weak, and I know that he cannot approach me, ’cause I’m lookin’ like class and he’s lookin’ like trash, can’t get wit’ a deadbeat ass.”

Ya see, women want a man with initiative — and that goes beyond just holding down a 9-5.

They want someone with aspirations, hobbies, and a complex life all their own.

Tell her about how unique and spectacular your life is by talking up your personal projects. Women want to see that the man she’s dating isn’t willing to settle and is always looking for ways to grow and improve himself.

7) Talk About Your Pooch

swipe right if

Webbox, a UK-based dog food company wanted to find out how effective a wingman dogs actually are.

After swapping out non-dog pics for dog pictures they found that their test account received 38% more matches.

There are two things we can learn from this.

One is that you should 100% include photos of you and your dog (just don’t steal your friend’s k-9).

Secondly, talk and chat up your dogs as often as possible.

Women see dog owners as more responsible, caring, and better parents than non-dog owning users.

It’s likely that her first message will be about your dog. Follow up by asking about her dog and then offer to go on a doggy date. Just remember to use a TDL.

8) Tell Her How You Travel

swipe right if

If you’re a single 20 or 30-something travel is bound to be one of your hobbies.

How do I know this?

Because what young person doesn’t like to travel?

It doesn’t quite matter that your hobby is common, what matters if how you tell her about it.

Let’s take a closer look at the text above.

I could have simply written, “love to travel” as the response for “swipe right if…”

However, that would’ve been basic and without character.

Not only did I name drop Scott’s Cheap Flights, but I told the user that I want to go to Malta.

I gave her two nuggets of information that her and I can bond over. When in doubt provide specifics.

Everyone loves to travel, so tell her how you like to travel and where you want to go. Tell her a travel story or brag about all the countries you’ve been to and what you’ve learned through your travels.

9) Be Polarizing

swipe right if

Luckily Bumble already lets users indicate their political leanings.

However, making where you stand 100% clear will only serve to help filter out unwanteds.

If dating someone with opposing political views is a dealbreaker let it be known. Don’t waste your time or hers.

And hey, you don’t want to cast a wide net.

Matching with every woman you swipe right on would be a curse. You only want to match with women you’re highly compatible with.

10) Make Her Giggle

swipe right if

Women love funny men.

That’s just a fact.

Another fact is that if you can make her LOL while reading your profile you’re more likely to get her to swipe right than if you don’t.

Make her chuckle, giggle, or laugh internally, however she does it, it’ll ultimately give you a better chance of scoring a first date.

11) Make Her See You

swipe right if

You want to give her such a detailed image of who you are and what you’re about that she can just about write your profile for you. The more she knows about you the better.

Of course, there are some things you might want to keep to yourself. Any weird phobias or idiosyncracies are best kept secret until you’ve built up a rapport.

If you don’t know what to write it’s best to write too much than too little.

As you can see the prompt just above is really just a list of things our test user likes and is looking for in a partner.

The more images you can give her to hold onto the more likely it is that you two will form a connection.

12) Allow Her To Imagine What Life With You Would Look Like

swipe right if

There are a couple of things I’d like to point out about this post.

One is that it makes the reader clearly see what life with the test user would look like.

It clearly outlines an ideal Sunday, one that consists of lounging about while also enjoying the finer things in life like waffles and wine.

Although there is one negative I’d like to point out.

There’s a grammar error in this prompt.

Grammar errors are actually pretty big turn-offs. Not putting the effort into making sure your profile makes sense is just lazy. Thousands of women will read your profile. Grammar errors are quick and easy fixes that can have a major impact on the number of matches you receive.

Always double-check what you write before posting.

13) Unpopular Opinions Make You Stand Out

swipe right if

Is it true — probably not.

But will it be read and reacted to — definitely.

Just be sure that you name-drop an artist that you actually like and one you think is overrated. Feel free to swap in your own artists.

14) Popular Unpopular Opinions

swipe right if

Everyone knows that come Super Bowl time there are two types of people.

There are those that watch the football game and those that watch the commercial.

Making known which tribe you identify with will certainly make some women swipe left on you, but that’s okay. You only want to attract women whose views align with yours.

Despite the age-old wisdom that opposites attract this couldn’t be further from the truth.

Let’s Get Swiping!

Remember.

When penning your Bumble profile write in such a way that the woman reading it knows exactly who you are.

Showcase your personality with wit, talk about your likes in detail, and always be positive.

Adhere to these tips and you’re sure to bag a few numbers.

If you’re still unsure as to the best way to create a Bumble profile, don’t worry — we’ve got you covered.
