Jersey City is often compared to its louder and shinier neighbor, Manhattan.

In 2022, WalletHub released a list of the best cities for singles to live in.

Unsurprisingly, Jersey City and NYC both made the list. What might be surprising is who was named the better city for singles.

NYC ranked as the 151st best city for singles.

And Jersey City? 63.

That’s because according to the three ranking factors, Jersey City won out when it came to the affordability of the city and dating opportunities. 

Who would have thought that?

But just because the single life is better in Chilltown doesn’t mean it’s necessarily easy to find a lady to call your own.

But things get even better if you’re a single male.

Chilltown has about 6k more females than males living in the area meaning 51.2% of its population is female. 

If you’re a man this means it should be easier to find a single lady — of course, this isn’t always the case.

Just because the numbers go your way doesn’t mean Jersey City residents are easy to tie down. The hustle and bustle of the city paired with a love for dating apps means singles are always looking for the next best thing whether that be a new apartment, job, or hubby.

Although if you’re a single guy, with a good job, and apartment of your own you’re in a great position to find a lovely single lady.
