Is the Bumble Boost Lifetime Membership Worth It? What Do You Get?

If you haven’t already, download Bumble… as in like right now!

What you’re about to read is an in-depth assessment of the Bumble Boost Lifetime Membership.

We’ll unpack whether it’s worth it or not. But before getting into that, what I can vehemently tell you now is that Bumble’s one of the most popular dating apps in America and one that you shouldn’t swipe left on.

According to Statista, Bumble is the second most downloaded dating app in America.

Your average Bumble user is someone who was jaded from the hookup culture on Tinder and decided to graduate from callous hookups to something more serious. The median age of Bumble users is 26, with 65% of those users being male and 35% female.

Users also find Bumble to be a seamless transition from Tinder because the two apps look and feel the same. That’s at least in part because Tinder’s co-founder Whitney Wolfe is also the founder of Bumble. Both app’s are strikingly similar, however one major difference is that one has a lifetime membership and the other doesn’t.

So what exactly does a $149 Bumble Boost Lifetime Membership include?

To see if a lifetime membership of Bumble Boost is worth the hype we recently purchased said membership.

This is what we found.

Is Bumble Boost Worth It? Specifically the Lifetime Membership Option?

Unlimited Swiping

Don’t ever worry about keeping your swipe finger strong again.

With Bumble Boost’s lifetime membership you’ll never have to worry about running out of likes. This capability couldn’t come at a better time.

During Bumble’s early years, it was able to filch Tinder users to its platform by offering even free users unlimited swipes. However, now that Bumble has hooked millions of Americans to its platform it no longer needs to entice users with uninhibited swiping.

Not too long ago Bumble offered even free users between 40-80 right swipes a day. But ever since coronavirus crashed the party and decided to cock-block America, Bumble reduced the number of free likes to about 10-20 every 24 hours- at least here in the SF Bay Area.

Clearly Bumble has decided to capitalize on America’s already infectious loneliness epidemic.

Bumble Boost is the solution to the problem of limited likes. With this lifetime membership, Bumble promises that you’ll always have the opportunity to swipe right on someone… that is unless you’ve already swiped away all the women in town.

Use Of Advanced Filters

The future of online dating lies in filters.

We all know what the perfect partner looks like.

It’s someone the shares our same political views, hobbies, choice of pets, food interests, etc.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could filter your way to the perfect match? Bumble is trying to make that a reality.

With the Bumble boost membership, you have the choice of using 15 advanced filters. If you’d like, you can use filters to choose to only view profiles of verified users, select what dates they are comfortable going on (virtual, socially-distanced w/ mask, socially-distanced), by height, exercise routines, education level, drinking habits, smoking habits, pets, cannabis use, what you want from a bumble match (relationship, casual, don’t know, marriage), if they want kids (want someday, don’t want, have & don’t want more, have & want more), star sign, politics, religion, vote or not.

You can also choose to swipe on women throughout the entirety of the country. Free members appear to have this ability too, but don’t be fooled, our test user found that extending your search distance to the “whole country” really just means about a 90-mile radius from your home.

But with that said, the test user believes that if you set the search distance filter to the “whole country” that Bumble’s algorithm will incrementally increase the radius of your search if you run out of profiles to swipe on. For example, once you swipe through all the women in the 90 mile radius, the app will show you women at 91 miles away, then 92, 93, and so on. Just a hunch- not a fact.

The Beeline Is Dope

The Beeline is your cache of matches and women that have already liked you.

The thing is, with a free membership the photos of women that have liked you but that you haven’t liked back yet, are blurred. Boosting your profile puts those pixels back in order and clarifies the photos. The paid Bumble Boost membership also gives you the opportunity to directly swipe left or right on those profiles, thus saving you an inordinate amount of time.

It sounds great, but here’s the thing.

Among those formerly blurred profiles are women that you’ve already declined. Our test users found that 90% of the women waiting in his beeline weren’t worthy of a right swipe.

Unlimited Match Extends Rock

A couple of things to know about Bumble.

For one, the woman have to begin the conversation.

As a dating app that claims to be 100% feminist, Bumble encourages women to make the first move. A second is that if a conversation isn’t begun within the first 24 hours after a match is made, the match expires. As you can imagine, thousands if not millions of matches expire every day. Many a person, both men and women use dating apps to boost their confidence instead of to find romance.

With the free membership, users are only awarded one match extend per day. With Bumble Boost you’re allowed to extend as many matches as you’d like.

Rematches

Here’s the thing. Match extends are good and all, but what if she messages you and you don’t respond within 24 hours?

In this case, the match would still expire. Should this happen you’ll have to wallow in your loss, fantasizing about what could have been.

Or you could use Bumble Boost and rematch with said mystery woman.

With rematch, you’ll be able to bring her back from the dead and converse with her again. From a sales perspective, I bet Bumble crushes with this feature.

While unlimited match extends and rematches are both features you’ll take advantage of, you shouldn’t indiscriminately resurrect every match that expires. Use your powers wisely and only chase leads that are worth pursuing. If you’re already talking with a couple promising women, perhaps wait a week or so to strike up yet another conversation.

When you have too many prospective women in your life you’ll always choose what’s fresh and new over what you’ve already invested in. Make sure you’re not overwhelmed with matches. Taking your time will also ensure that you don’t experience burnout.

Does Boost Include Bumble Travel?

Want to travel anywhere in the world where Bumble is active?

During corona times, virtual romantic vacations have quite the appeal. During the most recent lockdown in March, Tinder saw a double-digit increase in Brazilian, German, and American users using Tinder Passport.

Having recently launched Bumble Travel mode, Bumble too wants to take advantage of the need of single Americans to just getaway.

Travel Mode Bumble

The Bumble Travel feature is not included with Bumble Boost.

For the privilege to date in Paris before skipping over to Munich and then Milan, you’ll have to dish out another $8.99 for a 7 day trip. Parting with this sum of money will give you a week’s worth of virtual jet-setting.

Does Boost Include Unlimited SuperSwiping?

No.

While paid Tinder memberships grant you a few super likes, Bumble does not, which frankly, is kind of a bummer.

A superswipe is a great way to convey your interest. It’s this transparent message of “I really like you” that leads to a better chance of her reciprocating with a like of her own. Bumble’s internal data claims that a superswipe increases the odds of receiving a like by threefold.

One superswipe costs a grand total of $1.99.

I recommend using these superswipes on women that are just slightly out of your league. Always keep a few of these likes on deck in case of romantic emergencies.

Does Boost Include Spotlight?

Bumble Spotlight is Bumble’s answer to Tinder’s Boost.

Like Boost, when activated, Bumble Spotlight will bump you to the front of the profile queue. This more or less means that when a female in your area logs on, you’ll be the first profile she sees.

The feature sounds great doesn’t it? So great it should be included in a lifetime membership right? Well it isn’t.

Even as a boost member they’ll prompt you to spotlight your account. I actually think lifetime Boost members should get a free spotlight every week. But again, Bumble is a business and this is add-on revenue to them.

I just hope that they’re bringing their boost members to the front of the line so to say.

A spotlight will run you 2 Bumble coins which equates to either $2.33 or $3.20 depending on the coin bundle you purchase.

Bumble Spotlights are best used when there are a ton of users online. The best time to use spotlight is between 8-10pm on a Sunday during the summer. Another smart way to use the feature is when you’ve just moved to a new neighborhood, city or are on vacation and want to quickly find women to date.

How Much Does Bumble Boost Cost In Case You Don’t Want the Lifetime Membership?

Is a lifetime of swiping not right for you?

That’s cool, here are your other options:

  • 1 week/$10.99
  • 1 month/$24.99
  • 3 months/$54.99

If you’re skeptical about becoming a lifelong Bumbler, no worries, Bumble gives you the option to sample before you make the leap.

So Is Bumble Boost Lifetime Membership Worth It?

Here’s the thing.

If you’re a MegaDater, you shouldn’t be relying on any single method to meet women.

MegaDating means dating various women at the same time. To do this you can’t put all your eggs in one basket. Don’t wholly rely on any single app or place to meet women.

If you’re a serious MegaDater I recommend using 5 dating apps in addition to actively meeting women in person. Each dating app caters to a specific type of user. Instead of using just one app, invest in a variety.

So no, you don’t NEED to become a lifetime member.

Of course, if money ain’t no thang, then sure, why not put yourself on the fast-track to love by purchasing this membership. That being said, if you team up with me, you won’t need a lifetime to find a woman to call your girlfriend.

Another note on purchasing a lifetime membership.

There’s no point in making the purchase if you have a subpar profile. A subpar profile attracts subpar women. Start by revamping your profile. Even though Bumble claims to be less superficial than other dating apps, it’s still designed in such a way that places great import on the quality of your photos.

If you don’t have high-quality Bumble photos, it’s time to consider hiring a photographer to snap new photos of you or asking a buddy of yours to snap a few the next time you two go out.

What Now?

If you aren’t ready to splurge on a lifetime membership, why not start small?

Revamp your profile, chat with some ladies, and see how it goes.

If the journey towards romantic gratification seems like an uphill one, why not team up with a dating coach?

When you and I team up, what you’ll gain is a professional wingwoman. I know exactly what women respond to both online and IRL. I’ll teach you how to MegaDate, how to ask women out with a TDL, how to flirt, plan an awesome first, second, and third date, and ultimately how to find a woman that you feel proud to be with.

Schedule a 1-on-1 Zoom call now so that we can begin to create your own unique dating blueprint. We’ll discuss your dating roadblocks and create a strategy for success. We’ll also determine if my private coaching, group coaching, or matchmaking services are right for you.
