Tinder Insights – Visualize and Quantify Your Romantic Prowess

Tinder Insights – Visualize and Quantify Your Romantic Prowess

Wouldn’t you like to quantify your Tinder experience?

To know how many times you’ve swiped, the number of messages you’ve sent, how many women you’ve matched with, and all the other numbers that provide insight into your Tinder life?

There’s a way to get all this down on paper.

As a Tinder user you actually have the ability to request your personal information from the app.

Once you have it you’re only a click or two away from creating detailed and easy-to-read infographics that detail your Tinder journey.

Tinder Insights

To get started, you first need to download your data from Tinder.

Requesting Data From Tinder

It’s normal for social networks to give out your personal information to everyone but you.

Tinder is bucking the trend by allowing its users to have access to the data it’s collected (well at least a small piece of it).

To access this data you’ll first want to go here.

You should see a page that looks like this.

tinder insightsThose that currently have Tinder are able to click the link https://account.gotinder.com/data to request their data.

Once clicked you’ll be brought to a screen that looks like this. tinder insights

Once you’re here sign in using the same login information you did so when signing up for the app for the first time.

Tinder will then ask for your email address so they can send you the link to download your personal info.

You probably won’t receive a link for a few days so be patient. Perhaps in the meantime continue to get your swipe on or optimize your profile by choosing better photos.

Once the email comes you’ll receive a link to download your data in the email.

Once clicked you’ll be brought back to the Tinder log-in menu.

After logging in your data will immediately be downloaded.

It’s at this point that you can browse your data at your leisure.

However, this data might be difficult to read or just plain boring.

If you really want that data to pop you’re going to want to upload it to Tinder Insights.

Slick Infographics With Tinder Insights

Now that you have that raw data at your disposal it’s time to give it a makeover.

Simply go to Tinder Insights and upload that file you received from Tinder.

After uploading your data, Tinder Insights should spit back out infographics that look something like these.

As you can see Tinder provides you with some pretty awesome information including:

  • Dates
  • Chats
  • Right and left swipes

But this isn’t all.

Once downloaded Tinder Insights should provide you with 10 infographics.

You’ll receive information on:

  • COVID-related Tinder habits
  • Most active day of the week
  • Chat length
  • Best and worst opening messages
  • Pickiness
  • Match rate

Again, with 10 infographics coming your way you’ll have plenty of helpful information to comb through.

Why It’s Worth It

Tinder is the most competitive place to find a date.

More competitive than any random bar on a Friday night and certainly more competitive than speed dating.

Why?

Because Tinder has a 9-1 male to female ratio.

It’s swollen with youngish men blindly swiping away.

This not only creates a difficult atmosphere to flirt in but allows women to match with guys who would otherwise be out of their league.

Why’s that?

It’s a simple question of supply and demand.

When women are in such short supply, they can afford to be picky. When there are 9 guys to every 1 woman, women can be super picky.

So how does all this relate to your Tinder insights?

You’ll have to use every competitive edge you have to make yourself feel seen on these apps.

One way to do that is to leverage the information gleaned from your insights.

As I mentioned you’ll have access to crucial data such as average match rate, average pickiness, best messages, chat stats, and much more.

By looking at your data you’ll start to get a sense of how you stack up to the competition and what aspects of your profile you can optimize in order to get more matches.

For example, perhaps you’re matching with many less women than the average guy on Tinder (information TI provides). If this is the case you may want to:

  • Swipe right on women more so in your range
  • Improve photos
  • Re-write bio

One of my favorite pieces of info is success rates on opening messages.

opening messages tinder insights

Most guys tend to use the same messages or variations of messages as their opener.

Perhaps you think your go-to line works every time, but in reality, it’s a stinker.

If you’ve been on Tinder for years, the app has a sizeable sample size to use when assessing your best and worst messages. As you can see from the snapshot above, “hey” or “hey” variations as well as cliches don’t have high success rates.

The messages that have worked are personalized and ask specific questions.

Another crucial piece of data Tinder provides is the length of your average chat.

Ask yourself how often you score a number from a Tinder match.

It’s possible that you’re rarely getting numbers and setting up dates because you either scare them away by trying to escalate too quickly or bore them by taking your sweet-ass time.

The more data you have at your disposal the better.

By combing through these nuggets you’ll quickly understand which aspects of your Tinder dating habits need improving.

Here’s an article on how to get a woman’s phone number on Tinder just in case you’re struggling with taking your conversations off the app.

What To Change If You Lack Matches

Like every dating app on the market, Tinder is superficial.

The most crucial piece of information you provide to females is your first photo.

If you’ve seen that you’re getting fewer matches than the average guy on Tinder the first thing you’ll need to change is your primary photo.

The first photo she should see should be a close-up shot of your face. Ditch the glasses, hats, and anything else that could obscure your face. The first thing she wants to know is what you look like. If she’s at all dubious of what you look like she’ll swipe left.

Also be mindful of your background.

Here’s an example of a solid first picture.

Now that we’ve covered the first photo let’s quickly go over the next few.

Second Photo

Full body shot. She’ll want to know that you’ve got all your limbs as well as if you’re in shape, on the big side, or something in between.

Third Photo

Now’s the perfect time for a group shot. If possible make sure you’re the best-looking male in the photo. Also never post a photo of you standing next to a female unless it’s 100% clear that she isn’t your former significant other.

Fourth Photo

Show off your hobbies. Are you super into hiking, blackjack, or surfing? Whatever your hobby is, show it off. Don’t be ashamed of how you spend your free time. Posting a photo of you playing Catan will scare off the kind of people you don’t want to spend time with anyways.

Fifth Photo

This is the GQ shot.

A Tinder female will never take away points for dressing to impress. Post a photo of you at your friend’s wedding, at that gala, or just dressed in your most dapper gear.

The Rest

Tinder allows for 9 photos.

Upload at least 6.

Your job with these photos is to tell her who you are and what you look like in 6+ pictures.

Showcase your personality, take high-quality photos, and avoid selfies at all costs. Try to show off a different side of yourself in each and every photo.

What To Change If Your Received to Sent Message Ratio Is Lopsided

Are you sending more messages than you receive?

Tinder Insights will tell you exactly how many messages you’ve received and sent.

From looking at the Tinder Insight above I can infer that the female users this person’s trying to contact aren’t nearly as interested in chatting as he is.

They’re probably cutting the conversations short because they haven’t been given a reason to continue chatting.

Give her a reason.
