In their research, they found that 12% of all marriages started online, confirmed that women receive way too many messages and that even seasoned daters have tried their hand online.

To be specific 38% of those between the ages of 30-49 and 19% of those ages 50-64 have at least one time logged into a dating site or swiped on a dating app.

Being that dating apps are 24/7 singles clubs it makes sense that singles 40+ are using dating apps.

Why look anywhere else when you can find compatible women while leisurely scrolling through prospects on your couch?

Best Apps For Men In 40s and 50s

First up is Hinge.

Hinge

Hinge is widely known as “the dating app designed to be deleted.”

Bumble

Bumble is Tinder’s woke, feminist twin sister.

To understand Bumble you have to understand its founder, Whitney Wolfe. Wolfe co-founded Tinder back in the day but left after being sexually harassed.

She ended up suing Tinder and launching her own app, one that puts women first.

As expected, Bumble and Tinder are super similar — with a few key differences.

For one, Bumble requires women to message first. 

If she doesn’t message within 24 hours after the match is made, the connection is lost forever (unless you have a paid membership and decide to revive it).

Bumble’s also unique in that it attracts users that aren’t as lascivious as Tinder. Bumble’s the second most popular app in the US. While it generally caters to a younger crowd its sheer volume of users means there are still plenty of users in their 30s and 40s.

Facebook Dating

Facebook Dating launched in the US in 2019.

It was only a matter of time before the most popular social media company in the states decided to create a dating feature.

I’d like to tell you that FB Dating is one of the most-used apps for singles in their 40s and 50s but I can’t. Facebook has been incredibly reticent when it comes to numbers.

That being said… it’s Facebook.

We’re sure there are oodles of singles on it.

The coolest aspect of this fairly new FB feature is that the world’s leading social media company has the ability to autogenerate a profile for you. 

Finally, Facebook uses its all-knowing powers for good.

This is great news for you guys out there that are not only wondering how to use dating apps but how to create compelling profiles.

The ease of building a profile makes it nearly impossible not to sign up for Facebook.

Tinder

Didn’t think you’d see Tinder on this list did you?

Look, this is a list of the best dating apps for older single men. If I had to pick the one app you absolutely had to download it wouldn’t be Tinder.

However, if you’re going to have an arsenal of dating apps on your phone (which you should) Tinder should 100% be on that list.

It doesn’t matter that it’s principally used by young singles (90% of whom are men).

There are nearly 8 million Tinder users in the USA, almost twice as many as Bumble, the next most popular app.

While 95% of users will be in their 20s and 30s. 5% will be older. 5% sounds like nothing but it’s still probably more users than you’d find on age-specific sites like SilverSingles and Match.

The League

If only there were a place for all the pretty people to mingle online.

For the pretty, successful, ambitious, 6-figure, CEOs, and world-beaters.

The League brings that place to life – or at least to the app store.

I guarantee you The League has the most CEOs, Ivy League grads, and founders per capita than any other app on the market.

After struggling to find a man that equaled her professional success, founder Amanda Bradford did the most ambitious thing possible; she created an app that would attract the kind of hyper-successful man she’d want to date.

Match

Probably one of the first dating websites you’ve ever heard of, Match has been around since 1995. While the website/app itself may have fallen on harder times it owns the following apps: Tinder, Hinge, Match, Meetic, OkCupid, Pairs, Plenty Of Fish, Azar, Hakuna, and others.

But enough about its portfolio, if you’re over 40 it’s still worth downloading Match.

Match doesn’t have a sexy interface, it’s not growing very much, but what it does have is the largest concentration of women 40 and up. According to Match, 48.6% of its users are between the ages of 30-49. Another 26.5% are 50 or older meaning that a paltry 25% of users are under the age of 30.

It’s this large concentration of older users that makes this app a must-download.

It doesn’t matter how anti-superficial the app is or how against superficiality the users are — photos matter.

So much so that if you don’t have a kickass roster of photos, you’ll likely be kicked to the left (that’s dating app talk for rejected).
