As of writing this sentence, 3 million Americans have been vaccinated every day for the past 12 days.
More than half of American adults have received at least one vaccine, with about 26% of adult Americans already having received two vaccines.
So what exactly do all these doses mean for Americans?
Well, apart from antibodies up the wazoo it means it’s time to partaayyyyy!!!!
Now I’m not advising we all get naked and have a giant post-vaccine orgy (COVID-19 isn’t the only disease out there).
However, with the pandemic nearing an end (in the United States at least) many are speculating about a post-pandemic renaissance.
People are ready to not only celebrate the fact that they can finally go to a restaurant without fear of inadvertently being given a free side of COVID but they’re also celebrating the fact that, you know, they’re still alive.
Look the pandemic has been difficult for all of us, and we all deserve a vacation.
Being that on a non-pandemic year, 32 million Americans travel to Mexico on average, there’s a good chance that your next vacation will involve sipping margs and lounging on a Mexican beach — most likely one in the Riviera Maya.
There’s also a good chance that you haven’t dated much since the WHO announced the pandemic on March 12th of 2020.
Look Americans were struggling with their romantic lives even before the pandemic started, but it’s only gotten worse since the greatest cockblock the United States has even knowns forced us to abstain from kissing strangers.
So chances are along with eating al pastor tacos and building sandcastles you’ll also want to go on a date or two while in Mexico.
Luckily, I can show you how.
Chances are your vacation will last between 7-14 days.
That’s not a lot of time to meet people and find dates.
Luckily you can operate under a different timeframe.
Both Bumble and Tinder have passport features that allow you to travel (and swipe) in far-off places.
In fact, during the pandemic Tinder offered users two free months of Tinder Passport.
How To Score 10 Dates In 10 Days With Tinder Passport
Tinder Passport on the other hand is not a stand-alone feature, meaning that users wishing to travel via Tinder will have to cough up $9.99 for Tinder Plus.
The reason I don’t advise using other apps to travel around Mexico is because Tinder and Bumble are the only popular apps that offer travel features in Mexico.
Don’t waste your time on other apps.
After you’ve solidified your itinerary it’s time to get swiping.
Ideally, you start swiping a couple of weeks prior to arrival.
Don’t wait to chat up matches until you get to Mexico, rather start chatting them up and getting numbers as soon as you match. Your objective is to set 2-4 dates up prior to arrival.
When chatting with these ladies be upfront and let them know you’ll only be there for a few days or weeks.
Be transparent about how long you’ll be staying. Layout all the details on your profile. Doing so will filter out women that don’t want to invest time into building a relationship with a guy that will leave a week or so after meeting.
I say this because Mexican women are leery of American men. There’s this stereotype that they’re all libertines. Being upfront will filter out women that feel this way and aren’t looking for a short-term fling.
So what should you include in your profile?
Here’s an example of a profile you can feel free to steal from. Let’s break it down line by line.
In the first line, you’ll want to tell her where you’re from, where you’ll be vacationing, and for how long you’ll be there.
You need to stand out.
Cater your profile to the area you’re visiting. Talk about the local culture you’re interested in learning about. Mexican women are super proud of their culture and (most) would love to show you around. The latter part of the second sentence is humorous and shows that you’ve got a personality.
You’ll be way ahead of your tourist competitors if you speak a bit of Spanish. Hell even if you only speak a few sentences of Spanish you might as well include that in your profile. As you could guess, Mexican women prefer to go out with guys that don’t have to rely on Google Translate to have a basic conversation.
If you do speak Spanish, write at least a sentence or two on your profile indicating as much.
Only 5% of Mexicans speak English.
But wait, you’re going to a super touristy area, so that shouldn’t be a big deal right?
Two things.
One: The dating pool shrinks considerably if you’re only looking to date women that speak English.
Two: English-speaking Mexican women in tourist destinations are highly coveted. They’ll have their pick of the most eligible gringos, are you one of them?
Speaking Spanish — or at least trying or being willing to go out with a non-English speaker — will increase your odds of scoring a date.
Your date and you might not have in-depth and profound discussions about Mexican politics or Mayan culture, but you’ll at least get to dance and enjoy the local cuisine with a beautiful woman by your side who knows the best spots in town and just wants to enjoy her Friday night.
Mexican women flock to tourist cities and towns.
They do so not only because of the jobs these places offer but because of the western culture and dynamism of these places. If you’re willing to go out with a non-English speaker, she’ll be willing to go out with you.
Just be sure you have enough data on that phone of yours.
There is many a Mexican club that won’t even allow you through the doors if you’re not wearing pants and closed-toe shoes (dress shoes).
I know you imagined you’d be wearing nothing but flip flops and shorts this vacation but if you want to hit the antro and go dancing you’ll need to dress to impress.
Dress to impress for every date you’re on.
Mexican women have a stereotype of American men.
Along with thinking they’re loud and hate spicy things, Mexican women also think gringos are all wealthy.
The first two stereotypes you don’t want to play into, but you do with the last one.
Fulfill this fantasy of hers and you’re one step closer to securing that goodnight beso.
Yes, Mexico has a bit more macho mindset than the states do.
This means it’s still expected that men pay for first, second, and third dates.
But regardless of the mindset, you’re freakin’ on vacation. You’re spending large and letting loose anyways, the least you can do is thank the woman that just went out with this stranger from a foreign land by paying for her dinner.
There are plenty of awesome Mexican first dates ideas.
You can:
— Watch the sunset at the beach
— Take a salsa lesson
— Go on an excursion together
— Ask her to take you to the finest local food trucks around or a market
— Get invited to a local party
What you don’t want to do is invite her to the club on a first date.
Why?
Mexican clubs are like massive singles parties (especially touristy ones).
Wouldn’t it be awful if you invited a woman you never met before to a club, had no connection, and then had to spend the entire night by her side instead of enjoying yourself with friends and flirting with strangers?
Avoid inviting women you don’t know to the clubs.
If it’s late and you haven’t made any connections at the clubs yet, consider inviting her to the club or bar you’re at if she’s out and about.
Also, keep in mind that most clubs don’t start getting popping until around midnight.
Now it’s time that we let the women you’ll be attempting to court tell you the way to their hearts.
I asked a couple of friends from Mexico how a gringo can go about treating a Mexican woman while on vacay.
This is what they had to say.
