Many years ago, one’s race would be the biggest dating dealbreaker.
Hell, whites and blacks weren’t even legally allowed to marry each other until the Loving v. Virginia case of 1967.
But nowadays that’s changed.
Instead of the color of one’s skin being the chief dealbreaker, it’s the color of one’s political party that has become Americans’ biggest dealbreaker.
As you can see liberals won’t date conservatives and vice versa.Â
Dating while at either end of the spectrum has never been so difficult.
However, one can argue that the situation is even direr for conservatives.
Out in rural areas, conservatives vastly outnumber both liberals and cows combined, but in urban areas, conservatives are few and far between.
It’s in this article that we’ll examine how to improve’s one’s conservative dating life while deep in enemy territory.
Conservative Dating Tips
When it comes to dating, liberals are rather picky.
A recent poll from Pew Research found that 7 in 10 Democrats said they would never consider dating someone that voted for Trump.
Clearly, Dems aren’t willing to compromise.
If that’s the case you’ll be wasting your time trying to date a hardcore liberal.
Doing so would be as fruitless as trying to convince them to vote for Republic in the next general election.
It’s with this in mind that we’ll detail a few conservative dating tips and tricks necessary to have a stellar dating life as a conservative in an urban area.
Don’t Shy Away From Politics
Surely you’ve heard this adage before.
“Never discuss politics or religion in polite company.” Â
Whoever coined the phrase — and whoever perpetuated it — has no idea who their real friends are.

Here’s the thing.
As we’ve seen from the polls above, one’s political leanings could be a very real dealbreaker.
If this is the case why wait until the day of your wedding to finally talk politics?
If you’re a fervent believer in certain policies and can’t imagine yourself dating someone with contrarian views why waste time investing in this person?
As you can see there are quite a few issues that people consider to be dealbreakers.
Now.
Just because you have these views doesn’t mean you need to be extra vocal about them every time you go on a date.
Perhaps you’re pro-life but respect pro-choice people and would be happy to date them. If so, great, let that be known should the issue arise.
I’m not advocating for shying away nor throwing your views in your date’s face.
What I am advising is that should the topic arise, make your views known while respecting hers.
However, if you could never date someone who loves big government, gun control, and a liberal immigration policy, let that be known. If these are dealbreakers why waste your or her time.
Hiding Will Plant Seeds That Won’t Grow
Imagine dating an Italian woman that loves food, specifically Italian food.
She loves calzones, pizza, bruschetta, and of course pasta carbonara.
You on the other hand detest it, but keep your mouth shut.
You two go on a few dates, everything is going well, so well she decides to invite you to meet the family.
The thing is, her family is big, Italian, and they love food.
When it comes time to eat you sit there poking at the few bits of the pasta that aren’t covered in cheese and sauce.
While you’re picking around the entire family is watching, criticizing, and trying to remember where the cinder blocks are so they can chuck your dead body in the marina after they’ve poisoned your wine.
Suffice to say, this relationship just won’t work out.
This food, this culture, this love she was for her Italian-ness won’t be compromised.
She’s looking for not only a man that shares this love of all things Italian but also an honest one, one that isn’t afraid to express himself.
If you’re lying — or keeping quiet — about make or break political beliefs, at some point, they will surface and difficult decisions will be made.
Why get to that point?
Don’t let the pressure build. Instead, have honest, civil, and upfront discussions early on in the relationship.
Conservative Dating Tips for Your Profile
Do you strongly identify with certain political beliefs?
If so you’ll want to put them on your profile and make them known to the world.
There are various ways to do this.
Bumble for example allows users to choose and display their political leanings on their profile.
Hinge also allows users to choose their preference and display it in a similar fashion.
However, perhaps this isn’t enough broadcasting for you.
Look if you’re a flaming conservative then freakin’ flame on!
If you don’t want to date a liberal or even your basic run-of-the-mill old-school Democrat you need to let that be known.
Write in your profile:
It’s just common sense that we’re attracted to people with values, hobbies, and backgrounds similar to our own.
Sure, it’s totally possible that you and someone with different musical interests, clothing tastes, and tattoo choices can be super attracted to each other. However, these are all superficial preferences.
When it comes to more substantial values is when we see like-minded people preferring their own rather than someone with contrarian viewpoints.
Of course, as this couple shows, it’s totally possible to date someone from the other end of the political spectrum.
However, relationships like this one are more so the exception than the rule.

Let’s talk about a rather unlikely couple for a moment.
This is Helmut Lethen and Caroline Sommerfeld.
Their both Germany, both academics, and both… well, those are where the similarities end.
Helmut is as left as you can go whereas Caroline is part of the new right.
He’s in his 80s, she’s in her mid-40s. He thinks she’s a racist and she thinks he has a secret Nazi fetish.
It’s for these reasons that the next sentence seems like a non-sequitur.
How the hell is this possible?
According to the paradoxical couple, they argue constantly however they do so, “on an assumption of goodwill and rationality.”
In other words, they’re just courteous.
This couple demonstrates that you can disagree while still respecting the other person (ahh those crazy Germans).
Look, if you’re MegaDating — a dating strategy designed to quickly find a girlfriend that I advise all clients to use — you’re bound to meet someone with opposing views.
When the situation does arise how should you behave?
Answer: No differently than you normally should on a date.
First off, listen.
Before opening your goddamn mouth listen to what she’s got to say. Make her feel heard and respected.
Not only will this help you understand where she’s coming from and empathize with her but in listening you give her a model of how she should react when it’s your time to speak.
Secondly, don’t proselytize. In one conversation you can’t turn someone from blue to red.
Starting a heated argument is a guaranteed way to smother any flame you had been conjuring.
The more questions you ask and more you know about this person will only make you look more understanding, emotionally stable, receptive to new ideas, and of course attractive.Â
Conservative Dating Apps
There are a host of dating apps targeting conservative users.
Upon hearing this you might want to take your firearm out back and start shooting at the heavens in joy.
Not so fast, you big loveable elephant you.
Conservative may sound like one giant Republican convention for singles only, but there are a couple of downsides.
Generally speaking these apps and websites look like they were designed by the same guy that designed Drumpf’s failed social media platform.Â
Despite being conservative-friendly they’re not user-friendly.
But more importantly, they just don’t have a whole lot of users.
Righter, one of the most popular right-wing dating apps has had less than spectacular results.
While there is a dearth of users that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get your swipe on via these right-wing dating apps.
I recommend clients use multiple dating apps. Use a right-wring app or two but also Tinder and other popular app such as Bumble or Hinge.
While Tinder and the like don’t cater to people of a certain political leaning, due to their size they’ll have thousands more conservative users than a conservative-specific dating app will have.

If there’s one thing I’d want you to walk away with it’s that you don’t need to shy away from your beliefs. Instead, making them known will quickly repel the incompatible people and attract the compatible ones.
