The beauty of this Hinge prompt is that it says just as much about you as it does about what you’re looking for.

If you want someone to eat wings with and join you to watch Sunday football every weekend you’re broadcasting that you’re a massive football fan to the world.

This prompt works to showcase who you are while also filtering and attracting those with similar interests.

It’s brilliant… if you know how to use it.

The key to a quality prompt response is, well, a few things.

There are a variety of ways to respond to a prompt that’ll convince her to give you that oh-so-coveted like.

You can’t go wrong when writing a prompt that does the following:

• Makes her laugh
• Goes into detail about who you are and who you want to be with
• Makes you stand out (in a good way)

As you’ll see from the answers below, there is no single right way to answer this prompt.

1) It Won’t Be An Uphill Battle

Tell her about your passions even if they’d annoy a lot of people.

90% of women on Hinge won’t want to wake up super early to go hiking. But that’s perfectly fine. Your goal isn’t to attract 90% of women, rather you only want the 10% or so that you’re really really compatible with.

So feel free to talk about your quirky likes and dislikes, tell her about those odd hobbies, or idiosyncracies.

2) A Bit Out There

I love this response because it’s so specific.

You can see exactly what you two would be doing on this date. You can smell it, feel it, and even hear it.

I also like how homey and domestic it is. Only people you intend on entering into a relationship with would be invited over to bake.

It’s an activity that indicates you’re looking for a relationship, not a ONS.

3) It’s On!

I’ll be honest, this prompt wouldn’t work on Tinder. It just wouldn’t make much sense. Not to mention that people use Tinder for short-term relationships and confidence boosts.

Hinge on the other hand is used by singles looking to never be single again.

It’s for this reason you can be a bit more serious on Hinge.

Of course, there’s still an opportunity to be funny (as we’ll see later) but there’s also no need to shy away from telling her what you really think.

4) Let’s Groove!

I have to say that I wish Hinge would link to Spotify like Tinder and Bumble.

Connecting through music is a quick and easy way to build a bond.

But that’s fine. If Hinge doesn’t want to connect Spotify to the app for you, you can do it yourself.

Chatting about music is a great idea. An even better idea is to talk about doing something in the real world. 

Invite her to do something with you. Doing so is an easy way to get your prompt liked. It’s also an easy way to transition from an online relationship into an IRL one.

5) The Curveball

Just because Hinge is more adult doesn’t mean it can’t be spicy.

This prompt is a classic curveball. It takes you one way before swerving into a completely different lane.

Try to use at least one curve like this in your bio. It demonstrates personality, helps you stand out, and will get you more likes than the profile on either side of you.

Don’t forget that women can like and comment on prompt responses.

Chances are she’ll like and comment on a funny response that’s also revealing.

6) A True Keeper

This I want someone who Hinge prompt could have gone differently.

Instead of spelling out exactly the type of person they want, the prompt could have just listed out a litany of adjectives. But forget that. The people of Hinge want to be wooed. They want visuals, and illustrations – they want someone that puts in a bit of effort.

If you’ve ever noticed, the profiles on Hinge are a billion times better than those of Tinder and just a thousand times better than Bumble profiles.

To stand out you’re going to invest a little.

Maybe that means writing a few drafts or asking your friends for their opinions.

A basic, quickly written profile just won’t do. The competition is too great and the opportunity to dazzle too attainable.

Investing 10 more minutes in creating your profile could have a massive impact on the number of matches you get.

7) Tik Tok

Be true to yourself. It doesn’t matter if what you’re into is something a small portion of the female Hinge users dig.

You don’t need to attract everyone.

Instead of casting a wide net, I want you to be laser-focused on only attracting compatible women.

If your goal is to attract everyone you won’t stand out.

Only the most beautiful and interesting of interesting men get the lion’s share of matches. Everyone feeds on the scraps.

But there’s a hack to help you with that. 

Personalize your profile so that you’re making it for your ideal woman. 

If you’re ideal female loves ping-pong, Catan, and late nights involving writing fan-fiction, create a profile that speaks to those likes.

It won’t matter if you’re not the most beautiful guy on the app. She’ll be willing to make an exception if your personalities align.

So don’t shy away from what makes you, you. Instead, hold it up to a microphone and broadcast it to the masses.

8) Travel Buddies

Who isn’t up for spontaneously quitting their jobs and traveling the world?

Okay probably a lot of people, but that’s fine.

This response makes you look like the type of person who is dynamic, wants to travel, and knows how to have fun. That might just be enough to score you a like and a first date.

9) I Want Someone Who… I’d Take That Deal

This tells her exactly what you’re into. It tells her what you do on your Friday nights, that you’re adventurous, that you have hobbies, and that you’re willing to learn and try new things. It may even tell her that you’re super into Latino culture.

These are all good signs from a woman’s perspective.

Another thing to note is the offer and question.

Not only do you offer to do something in the real world, but you ask her if she’s down. This is an easy way to suck her into the conversation. From the jump, you want to be asking her questions.

10) What Is… A Match Made In Heaven?

Let her into your average Wednesday night.

Does it include bowling, Jeopardy, or grabbing drinks with friends?

Before she agrees to go out with you she wants to have some inkling of who you are. She wants to be able to see what you look like and know more or less how you spend your time so she can decide if you’re worth spending her Friday night with.

To do this, open up about your daily or weekly habits, even if they include things that are super nerdy and habits most likely passed down by your parents.

Go ahead and plan out that first date before it happens.

Signal that you’re on this app not to window shop but to find your partner.

One way to do that is to talk about your first date.

Tell her what you have in mind, throw out some ideas, and hopefully one sticks.

The beauty of this prompt is that if you receive a response, chances are high that your new Hinge beau genuinely wants to go out with you.

In all honesty, this would be the best relationship you can hope to find nowadays.

It’s funny in that it seems to hardly be trying. But in all seriousness, I think a lot of people would be (or at least should be) content with a relationship like this one.

This is also the anti-response. Most people list a billion traits they want in a partner.

This one doesn’t do that. Instead, it’s realistic. I dare say it’s basic but when everyone is doing the opposite, it’s anything but.

Now It’s Time To Get Your Flirt On

After you have a match it’s time to chat her up.

When doing so keep a few things in mind.

For one, she has only a few seconds for you. She’d rather spend her time doing a billion things. So make your opening message count.

Do so by asking her a question, commenting on her profile, or saying something witty that demands a response.
