Dating App Red Flags: How to Spot a Keeper or Creeper Using Lead Scoring

Dating App Red Flags: How to Spot a Keeper or Creeper Using Lead Scoring

39% of all romantic relationships that began in 2017 did so online.

The Stanford study that came to this conclusion declared that online dating is the most popular way for singles to meet their partners.

But just because it’s the most common way to find love doesn’t mean it’s without its problems.

A Pew Research study recently found that 45% of online daters had a more negative than positive experience with dating apps.

This shouldn’t be surprising. I mean have you used a dating app before?

There are a million reasons why online dating is the worst:

You get the point.

Despite this, single women and men will continue to use dating apps.

So how can we quickly wade through the low-quality users and find women that are worth investing in?

We can do this by learning to identify dating app red flags.

Being ghosted, catfished, or meeting up with someone who is incompatible can discourage you from ever dating again.

Avoid these women by quickly picking up on red flags that disqualify them before you invest in them.

Identify Dating App Red Flags With Lead Scoring

We all know lead scoring from sales, but what if we applied it to the women of Tinder, Hinge, and Bumble.

Lead scoring is a sales tool used to rank the quality of prospects.

The beauty of this is that you decide your own criteria and assign a point value to each criterion. After this just do the math and voila, you’ve just scored the quality of a lead.

dating app red flags

This may sound time-consuming but there are plenty of benefits to scoring leads:

  • Allows you to quickly spot red flags faster
  • Rank so you better prioritize
  • Eliminate unqualified leads saving you time
  • Frees up time, money, and energy
  • Increases the quality of dates
  • Gets you in a healthy loving relationship faster

The flip side of not scoring leads are:

  • Getting sucked into a toxic relationship
  • Prioritizing the wrong people
  • Going on more low-quality dates
  • Getting burnt out

If you’re MegaDating (dating multiple women simultaneously) you’ll need to use lead scoring to quickly filter out candidates that aren’t worth spending time with. Doing so will increase your odds of finding a super compatible partner.

How It Works

Lead scoring when it comes to online dating is simple.

Each data point receives a score. The score is based on how important certain factors are. For example, if she writes that she’s into tennis, weekend getaways, and cooks Thai food (all things you enjoy) you give her 1 point each.

Or for each positive data point you give her +1 and for each negative -1.

So what are some examples of dating app red flags?

Dating App Red Flags

Put your seat belt on and keep your hands in your the vehicle at all times.

This ride through the maze of red flags around there will be bumpy.

These are the most common dating app red flags you’ll want to avoid at all costs.

For each red flag be sure to subtract points depending on how you decide to weigh each red flag.

Doesn’t Smile In Photos

You’re supposed to show your fun and loving side in dating app, not scare users.

If she doesn’t smile in any of her photos I’d deduct a point.

Uses Negative Language

You know those users that list out all the wrongs with the world and the men in that world?

The ones that say they hate online dating then provide a laundry list of things they need in a man without providing any insight into who they are?

Yeah I’d say that’s a pretty glaring red flag. Deduct another point.

Bad Photos

Is she hiding her face in every photo?

Are you struggling to have any idea of who this person is?

If you don’t know what she looks like, don’t go out with her. Chances are she’s hiding something and you won’t like what you find when you ultimately meet her. Deduct another point.

Calls Herself A Queen

Is she a queen that demands being pampered?

Does she also call herself proud, beautiful, confident, etc. while refraining from talking about her likes, etc?

I’d stay away from these women, that thing a list of traits is an illustration of one’s personality.

Show me who you are, don’t tell me. Deduct another point.

Mentions Crystals

Here’s the thing.

Maybe you’re a big crystal person. Maybe you’re super spiritual and love vibing with people on that level. If that’s the case, go ahead and give her a right swipe. If not, do yourself a favor and swipe left. Chances are she’s also into alternative medicine, yoga, and eating vitamin D instead of taking the COVID vaccine.

No Full Body Pics

You may get a match and brag to all your friends about how hot this new Tinderella is.

But after closer inspection, you realize she has no full-body shots. In fact, you only ever see her face.

Why is that?

Chances are she’s a little heavier than her photos suggest. That could be a con for two reasons. One perhaps you’re not into heavier body types. It also suggests she’s not confident in her body.

Consider this when scoring your new match.

Classic Sexist Narcissist

dating app red flags

She doesn’t know what you want.

This is an overly confident woman saying that many a narcissist will tell you.

And as far as “you better man up,” she’s trying to control you before she even meets you.

If you’re not a hyper-masculine guy in the traditional sense (i.e. strong, tall, will provide for his woman and always pay as she stays home) you need not apply.

Even if she’s super good looking — just don’t waste your time.

Gold Digger

Does she say things like… looking for a generous man, looking for a sugar, OR, men always pay?

If so, she’s a gold digger my friends. Deduct at least one point.

Filtered Photos

dating app red flags

Slightly filtered photos are okay.

One or two filtered photos are fine.

But super filtered photos that make her look perfect with glorious skin and the perfect waste means what you’re looking at isn’t her.

It’s the photoshopped ideal that she knows all men want, but few find.

This is false advertising, move on.

Perfect Angles For A Less Than Perfect Woman

red flags

Does she look amazing in every photo?

Yet every photo is taken from some outrageous angle?

If so, it’s because she knows what she’s doing. She knows how to make herself look better than she does.

Respect to her, this is a difficult skill and one that only comes only after breaking one’s back dozens of times to snap the perfect photo.

But that doesn’t mean you need to swipe right. Subtract a point.

Opposing Political Views

If she put her views on the app it’s because they’re important to her. She won’t date someone with opposing views so ditch whatever dreams you had of turning her to the dark side.

Hats, Scarf, and Glasses

Every woman knows that hats, scarves, and glasses are crucial pieces of every wardrobe. The thing is, if she’s using them in every photo she’s doing so to try to cover up a less glamorous side of her.

Make sure you know exactly what she looks like before going out. Subtract a point.

Craps On Vaccines

Honestly, this goes either way.

Maybe you’re super pro-vaccine or anti-vaxxes.

Only go out with women that align with your vax views. This may sound like you’re being close-minded… you are.

Doing so will save you time. Chances are someone that has opposing vax views won’t become your forever partner.

6 ft +

red flags

If you’re below 6ft best not waste your time.

But also if you’re over 6ft this won’t be her only requirement. Chances are she’s picky and superficial, if you don’t check every box she may throw you to the curb. Subtract a point.

The Instruction Girl

red flags

Look we’re all tired of receiving hey messages.

But clients are also tired of women telling men what to do.

When she writes something like this she ensures that your first thought is, wow, she’s kinda bossy.

That’s obviously not what you want.

Next! Subtract a point.

No Bio

red flags

Does she not have a written bio?

Does her bio also include plenty of photos where she doesn’t appear?

I’m talking about photos of her dog, the beach, mountains, etc?

Photos that are more suited for IG than a dating app. Deduct another point.

YOLO

dating app red flags

I guess this comes down to personal preference.

However, if you’re looking for a LTR you may want to look to more sober waters. Perhaps for you you’ll want to subtract a point.

Dating App Green Flags

If the aforementioned were all red flags and result in deductions, what’s considered a green flag?

For each of the following give the lead points.

Natural

dating green flags

Do you look at her profile and thing you know exactly what she looks like?

If so, give her a swipe, that is, if you like what you see. Add a point.

Classy

dating green flags

She smiles, uses HD photos, dresses well, looks to live a healthy lifestyle, etc.

I’d say she’s worth a swipe right, or at least a point or two.

Candid Shots

dating green flags

This shows how genuine she is.

If every shot is posed with a smile painted on her face you feel as though everything is perfectly staged and crafted in an inauthentic way.

However, if it’s candid you can infer she’s a down-to-earth, chill person, who isn’t superficial.

Again, it’s an inference, but that’s the best you can do when looking at dating profiles. Add a point.

Similar Political Views

Similarities of any sort are worth a few points.

Nowadays however dating someone with the same political views is paramount for a lot of people.

More so than race, background, where they went to school, etc. one’s political leaning is the biggest dealbreaker.

dating green flags

Independent Woman

dating green flags

I guess this one too comes down to preference however I’m sure a lot of men would prefer to date an ambitious woman with professional goals, and money of her own. Add a point.

Clear Photos

First and foremost you want to see what they look like.

The number one dating app red flag is when a user refuses to post photos that clearly show what they look like.

Positivity

dating green flags

No one wants to date someone that comes off as negative.

Profiles that talk about their interests are positive, and playful should get more than a point apiece.

Humor

Don’t just assume she’s humorous because she’s pretty.

Showing humor means if you two aren’t attracted to each other at the very least you’ll get along and enjoy one another’s company.

Explicitly Looking For A Long Term Partner

Most people don’t use dating apps to find long-term partners.

Instead, they use them to boost confidence, find one-night stands, or just procrastinate.

If she writes on her profile that she’s looking for a serious partner, it means she’s serious about meeting up, getting to know you, and finding a LTR.

If your romantic goals are aligned, swipe right and see if there’s a connection. Add a point.

She Actually Does Things

dating green flags

You want to date a woman that does more than look cute and take good selfies right?

You want to date a woman that has interests, goals, dreams, and a mission to be awesome.

What Next

I don’t imagine you’ll actually add up the calculations before swiping right or left.

Doing so would take quite a while.

What I do imagine is that by thinking about positive and negative qualities you’ll start to make better-swiping decisions.

You’ll begin to find more compatible women, have better dates, and ultimately find a partner that’s worth a damn.
