Bumble might just be the most innovative app on the market.

As of recently, they’ve introduced Bumble Compliments, Opening Question, di*k-pic technology, Bumble Speed Dating, and more.

Well, it turns out that they’re at it again with Bumble Best Bees.

Bumble Best Bees is Bumble’s answer to Hinge’s curated profiles and Coffee Meets Bagel algorithm matchmaker.

If you’re getting tired of swiping left and right on the hunt for your perfect someone, Bumble now brings that perfect someone to you… kind of.

Bumble Best Bees… What Is It?

Bumble now wants to be your matchmaker — and why not?

Bumble already knows your preferences, the type of women you go for, and the type of women that normally go for you. All this information is bundled up and fed into the algorithm to find compatible Bumble users.

Remember that Bumble allows users to choose their dating preferences ad nauseam.

Bumble users have the ability to choose preferences for:

• Height
• Verification
• Exercise habits
• Star sign
• Education
• Drinking habits
• Smoking habits
• Languages spoken

This is the same information you’d supply to a matchmaking agency. The difference with Bumble is that it has access to millions more singles than any matchmaking agency ever would.

Bumble also draws on your swiping and match history to find compatible singles.

How Many Best Bees Profiles Do I Have Access To?

Bumble will send you four new Best Bees profiles every day. 

To view them, click the diamond icon at the bottom left of the Bumble app.

Once clicked you’ll be able to view the profiles of four lovely women that Bumble’s love algorithm has selected for you.

Click a profile to view it. If you don’t like a profile simply click the X that appears after opening a profile.

If you do like her click the check mark.

We don’t yet know if Best Bees likes are boosted to the front of the profile queue, but it’s a safe bet to assume so. In the attempt to gin up excitement for the feature likes are likely boosted (although this hasn’t been confirmed yet).

How Many Best Bees Profiles Can I Like?

You can like as many profiles as you want… if you have Bumble Premium.

If not you only have one like a week.

That being said, if you’re already using filters to find your ideal match, it’s likely that if you swipe for long enough you’ll eventually run into these curated matches.

At the moment you’re unable to purchase more likes that can exclusively be used for Best Bees. The only way to secure more likes is to cough up money for Bumble Premium.

Not Everyone Has Access

Just because you have Bumble doesn’t necessarily mean you have access to this new feature.

To use Bumble Best Bees you need to:

• Already have matched with another user
• Turn off incognito mode

So chances are you have access, but if you’re struggling to nail down that first match, we know what needs to be done to start attracting women online. 

Can I Use Best Bees In BFF or Bizz Mode?

This is a super new feature — it’s not even available worldwide yet.

Maybe if it receives good feedback, but for the moment if can only be used in Date mode.

Is It Bumble Best Bees Worth Using?

Considering it doesn’t cost extra (unless you want more likes) it’s 100% worth using.

You have nothing to lose, except maybe time spent swiping away at incompatible women.

Bumble collects an obscene amount of data on its users. They know when you log on, the type of women you like to swipe right on, your success rate, how long you spend on the app, your ideal partner, ect.

Assuming they’ve written a solid algorithm to leverage all this data chances are you’ll start to receive super-compatible women in Best Bees on a daily basis.

Though I must say, the women that have appeared in my Best Bees thus far aren’t exactly my ideal type. 

Yes, they all speak the language I want them to (Spanish speaking is my explicit preference) but apart from that there are few similarities. My chosen interests and music preferences don’t often align. Bumble has also presented me with women outside of my ideal distance range – 27 miles is too far to drive for a first date with a stranger. Overall their profiles have been lacking a little bit with respect to their prompt answers (or lack thereof) and photos.

I expect this to get better over time, especially if I upgrade to Premium so I can provide Bumble with more detailed filters.

But if I do that I’ll have little use for Bumble playing the role of matchmaker.

If I have control over my filters in detail (which Premium allows for) I can be my own matchmaker, as I use advanced filters to create my perfect partner.

So yes, it’s worth it, but I’m not freaking out over this new feature like I did for Bumble Speed Dating.

How To Appear On Best Bees

Best Bees isn’t a one-way street.

If women pop up on your Best Bees, you’re likely to pop up on theirs.

However, some profiles will be used more often than others.

To ensure your profile is being viewed on another user’s Best Bees lineup of profiles you’ll want to complete your profile in detail.

That means uploading an entire roster of photos, answering the bio AND Bumble prompts, linking Spotify and IG to your profile, and of course filling out the My Basics and More about me sections of your profile.

How To Get Liked On Best Bees

If I had to guess I’d say women are more likely than men to use Best Bees.

Women aren’t spending oodles of time on dating apps like men do. They swipe a couple of times, message a couple of users, and get fed up.

With time and quality front of mind, they will gravitate to Best Bees and rely on Bumble to find them their new prince charming.

But just because you make the Best Bees cut doesn’t mean your profile will be liked.

To stand out against the three other men you’re selected with you’ll have make sure you’ve created a high-quality profile.

So what does that look like?

When it comes to crafting the perfect profile it all starts with your photos.

Even an app that bills itself as “feminist Tinder” is still incredibly superficial. This means you’ll need to upload some damn sexy photos to win her over.

This is what we mean by “sexy.”

2: Full body shot that gives her an idea of what you look like

3: Hobby pic, show her who you are and what you’re into

4: GQ shot, show her there’s a new James Bond in town

5: Show her you’re a man of the people by posting a group pic

But it’s not all about your photos.

Before swiping right (and definitely before sending you that first message) she’s going to read your profile.

She wants to know more about you. She wants to know who you are, what you’re into, if you’re witty or not, and if you can write a complete sentence.

Show off your personality by responding to Bumble prompts and writing a bio.

If you have Premium don’t forget to choose one of Bumble’s opening questions. Remember that women are required to message first on dating apps. Asking her a question via your profile is a great way to tease her into sending that first message.

Leverage Bumble To Meet Your Ideal Partner

Bumble can only do so much for you.

It can use fancy algorithms, innovate with new features every week, and give you plenty of real estate to show female users who you are and what you’re about.

But if you don’t take advantage of these features and real estate you won’t be matching with anyone soon.
