When’s The Best Time To Use Tinder Boost?
By any metric, Tinder is the most popular dating app in the United States if not the western world.
It has the most users, most active users, most paying customers, most female users, most guidos, etc.
Like it or not Tinder runs the game.
And as the supreme dating app of the land, you kind of have to be on it.
I mean you don’t have to be. You could argue that Tinder’s users are callow, mostly men, and don’t actually date anyone that match with.
All are valid arguments, but at the end of the dating online dating is a numbers game and Tinder has the numbers.
But just because you have it downloaded doesn’t mean you have to use it like the rest of the guys on the app.
One of the best ways to give your profile a boost is with, well, a literal boost.
But not all Tinder Boosts are created equal. In this article, we’ll show you how to get the most out of a boost by showing you when the best time to use a Tinder Boost is.
What Is Tinder Boost?
Ya know when you go to Six Flags and there are two lines to get on the roller coaster?
There’s a line for the plebs with a general admittance pass.
And then there’s a line for VIP Pass holders that get to cut the entire 45-minute line whenever they want.
A Tinder Boost is like a VIP pass at Six Flags.
For a total of 30 minutes Tinder Boost allows you to skip the line and boost yourself to the top of the queue.
Remember that when it comes to Tinder you’re nothing more than a card in a seemingly endless deck.
With Tinder Boost you can skip the line and ensure that you’re profile is being seen by the lovely ladies of Tinder.
Well, maybe ensure is a strong word.
That’s because as addicting as a digital 24/7 singles bar that you carry around in your pocket is, not everyone is on Tinder all the time.
To maximize your chances of scoring a match you’ll want to use your boost when Tinder users are most active.
That brings us to our main question.
When Is The Best Time To Use Tinder Boost?
Common sense says that you want to use Tinder Boost when female Tinder users are most active.
According to Nielson, the data information behemoth, Tinder users are most active at 8 p.m.
Generally speaking, 6-10 p.m. is when Tinder users are most active, but 8 p.m. is when the swipes are a bit more free-flowing.
If you don’t trust Nielson’s data, fine maybe you’ll trust Bumble’s.
So no, Bumble isn’t Tinder. Bumble’s the feminist version of Tinder. It targets basically the same age group, looks basically the same, and is used virtually the same way that Tinder is.
In Bumble’s 2017 Year In Review post they told us that users were most active between 8-10 p.m.
In Tinder’s own 2018 Year In Review post they informed the thirsty public that 6-7 p.m. was its most active hour.
When Is The Best Day To Use a Tinder Boost?
So we can pretty much definitively say that 6 o’clock is when Tinder users are slipping and sliding all over the app.
But what day is most popular.
If you read the Tinder provided graphic above you’d know that according to Tinder’s own research Monday is the app’s most active day.
Maybe not. I mean Mondays are boring. No one ever gets jazzed for Mondays or has any cool plans. Plus — this site (emlovz), which is dedicated to dating advice — always sees the most traffic on Mondays.
This makes it the ideal day to lie in bed and get your swipe on.
However, Monday isn’t the only day the Tinder users open the apps.
Bumble sees the most amount of traffic on Sundays. In fact, according to major dating apps such as Tinder, Bumble, POF, and Match.com the first Sunday of every year is known as ‘Dating Sunday’ among the biggest dating app players. It’s by far when dating apps see the most traffic. And, it’s our second most trafficked day of the week here at emlovz too.
So… When Should I Boost?
Conventional wisdom says that you should use your Tinder Boost on either Sundays or Mondays at 6 p.m.
That is of course when the largest portion of female users will be online.
But is that really the best time to use it?
Some of you may be thinking that since this is the most poppin’ time to swipe, you’ll be competing with more people using their Tinder Boosts.
It’s difficult to skip the line when everyone is using a VIP pass to do just that.
While this may sound like a good argument, I’d disagree.
You have to pay for Tinder Boosts.
Only about 11% of users have access to a boost.
However, only 2/3 of the paying memberships offer one boost per month.
Even if all Tinder users knew the perfect time to use a boost, only a select few actually have access to a boost.
This means that yes, Sundays and Mondays at around 6 p.m. is the best time to boost.
How Much Does A Tinder Boost Cost?
That depends on your membership.
As you can see only Tinder Gold and Tinder Platinum memberships offer 1 free boost a month.
Here are the prices for each membership.
You also have the option of buying Tinder Boosts outright.
Are Tinder Boosts Worth It?
Yes and no.
Tinder claims that with a boost you’ll score 10x more matches than you normally would if you were to swipe away for 30 minutes.
You SHOULD use a Tinder Boost if your profile has already been optimized.
You SHOULD NOT use a Tinder Boost if you only have 3 photos (one of which is a selfie) and no bio.
When it comes to dating apps you can’t buy your way to matches, you have to earn it.
So what exactly does a solid roster of photos look like?
Photo Optimization Tips
Photo 1: Close-Up Headshot
Close-up headshot that shows your face. Use natural lighting and a quality camera to snap this pic. Smile and wear a nice shirt. Also choose a kick-ass background.
Photo 2: Full-Body Shot
Your second photo should be a full-body shot that shows her that you do (or don’t) have all your limbs. Women won’t swipe right on you if they don’t know what you look like. Address these doubts by giving her a wide range of pics that show off your face and body.
Photo 3: The Hobby Shot
You have been reduced to a card. There’s no way you can possibly convey all the nuances and complexity of your character in a few pictures… but you have to try. Humanize yourself and showcase your personality by posting a hobby pic or two.
Photo 4: Group Shot
She wants assurance that you’re not a weirdo. Convince her that living, breathing people actually want to spend time around you by posting a picture of you with living, breathing humans. Ideally, you’re also the best-looking friend in the group, but if you can’t do this just make sure the guys in your groups have a comparable sex appeal.
These photos are crucial to have in your profile.
At the very least you need four photos that satisfy categories.
Feel free to also add any photos of you playing sports, with dogs, or looking sharp.
Things to avoid include:
— Shirtless shots
— Photos of you with a 40 in-hand
— Blurry photos
— Photos with you and a female (it doesn’t matter if she’s your ex or not, NO FEMALES)
— Wearing glasses, hats, or anything that obscures your face
— Fishing photos
— Edited, photoshopped, or weirdly cropped photos
— Excessive group shots
— *Wear different clothing in each photo
