Most of the time you want to keep your controversial opinions under wraps when meeting new people.

Imagine going up to a stranger at a party and the first thing they hear coming out of your mouth is how you hate Mexican food or how you think Star Wars both old and new are super overrated.

It’s not the best way to build new bonds.

But the dynamic changes when you’re online, specifically when you’re on Hinge.

Hinge offers over 50 prompts to choose from, but our favorite is the My most controversial opinion is prompt. 

It should be the very first prompt you use in your profile because of its ability to:

1) make you stand out

2) filter women and

3) quickly bond with women that share that same unpopular opinion

But not all responses are created equal.

In this article, we’ll show you the kind of answers that are bound to receive likes and get you matches.

My Most Controversial Opinion Is Hinge Prompt Responses

Some Hinge users have a habit of taking everything far too literally.

Instead of joking or offering one of their less controversial opinions, they’ll go full-blown crazy, broadcasting to the world how they feel about taboo topics.

That’s not your goal here.

Don’t be 100% honest or write about your wildest opinion.

If you think there should be another pandemic because the world is overpopulated, perhaps keep that to yourself.

Funny popular-unpopular opinions are what you should be aiming for.

To give you a better idea of what those look like, let’s dive in with some examples.

All examples are original so feel free to steal or just get inspired.

1) Okay Mr. Econ

When possible make your controversial opinions as timely as you can.

The more timely the more of a cord they’ll strike with the ladies of Hinge.

Other timely opinions you might include are:

• Fireworks should be banned and replaced with light shows #1 way forest fires are started
• DL Biden’s actually a solid president
• Abortion saves more lives than it kills
• Music festivals are a living hell
• The Supreme Court is a Supreme Joke

2) Gross

I mean they’re all the same, all over the top, 100% not realistic, way too passionate, and never move the story forward.

If I wanted to watch a quality sex scene I have internet access and high-speed internet.

But hey, that’s just one person’s opinion.

What works with this answer is that it’s not common. Guaranteed no one else will have an answer similar to this one.

That’s a big deal when you’re on an app dominated by men. In order to stand out, you’ll have to write something truly original.

3) To The Death!

To be clear, while these are original they’re not necessarily my opinion.

I don’t actually think people should be able to legally duel (even though that’s kinda what boxing is).

What’s cool about this prompt is that it addresses a serious issue, but is humorous, and even gets you to contemplate all at the same time.

Not only this but again, it’s original. Not to mention name drops the most famous duel in US history which shows you’ve read a book or two in your days.

Signaling that you’re cultured and intelligent without saying you’re cultured and intelligent will always win you points.

4) Death To SM!

This is actually a really smart post.

After a match, you or the female you match with will often ask for your IG or FB.

This is because she wants to learn more about you before deciding whether or not to go out. She also wants to ascertain you’re not a bonafide creep.

You also may be tempted to ask for her SM information.

However, if you’re not on SM, she’ll question why and perhaps ultimately won’t go out with you. It’s best to address why you can’t be found online sooner than later by letting her know how repulsed you are by SM.

I mean we all heard about what came out before Congress about Meta’s not-so-social algorithms that take advantage of its users.

5) With Great Power Comes Horrible Movies

This response is brilliant.

It’s brilliant because it’s a popular-unpopular opinion.

When it comes to superhero movies you either love or hate them.

There is no in-between.

By posting this you’ll surely be attracting the right kind of people, while quickly filtering out those you’re not compatible with.

6) Get Political!

Not sure if you can post something more controversial in the US.

This post is super polarizing — which is just what you want.

Why waste time chatting with someone you’re not compatible with?

We encourage political statements and unpopular opinions that will make some women swipe left in disgust. But for as many women that swipe away you’ll receive just as many enthusiastic likes.

7) Follow Your Nose

Booty or breasts?

This is the question that every man has one time or another been asked.

But what about nose men?

They’re out there and they’re slowly making their voices heard.

Generally, I’d advise staying away from commenting on the body in prompts, but if you’re sharing an interesting unpopular opinion that won’t make women feel uncomfortable go for it.

8) Politik

LOL.

Want to piss off more than half of Hinge users go ahead and write this.

That being said, it will super endear you to the 38% of Americans that approve of Biden as of writing this.

Again, your goal here isn’t to cast a wide net.

It’s all about attracting people similar to yourself.

We all know opposites don’t attract.

If you’re a conservative you’re not going to go with a Bernie-lover and vice versa.

Double down and try connecting and quickly building a bond with like-minded individuals.

9) Classy

Few people are aware of how effective this aerating method is.

This fun little fact will surprise her, make her give pause, and maybe even convince her to like your Hinge response.

Remember that with Hinge people don’t just like profiles, they have the ability to like photos and prompts. Should one of your responses stand out she might just go ahead and like it.

10) Overrated

Everyone, yes everyone likes Avocados.

However, there are a select few that rail against them.

They use a ton of water, are partially owned by narcos, and really don’t taste that good.

Some people will agree with you. These few people will immediately identify with your my most controversial opinion is response and give you a like.

11) Hot Take!

Now that’s a new take.

Remember to keep things fresh and original and you’re sure to get a like or two.

12. Get Political

I don’t think you can get more controversial than by saying you love yet also hate Tucker Carlson.

You’ll piss off both sides of the political spectrum.

But somewhere along that spectrum people will dig what you have to say and share their confusing affinity for the man.

Just don’t forget to SPELL correctly in your prompts (see the error above). Nothing deters women more than someone who doesn’t proofread.

After The Match

Now that you’ve written a killer Hinge prompt you have no doubt begun to rack up the matches.

But remember that Hinge is a dating app.

It’s not meant to simply boost your ego or be used as a game, but to actually meet the people you match with in real life.

So how do you do this?

It all comes down to communication.

But communication on dating apps is super different than talking to someone in person.

For one, if you chat with someone in person they pretty much have to respond.

That’s not the case with Hinge.

One wrong message could result in being ghosted, never to hear from this woman again.
