It’s official, dating apps are now the most popular way to meet your new girlfriend.
Dating apps have come a long way, from niche online websites reserved for those 50 and up to hookup apps, dating apps are now mainstream tools that more than 3 in 10 Americans use to meet their significant other.
But with such a saturated market for dating apps and new features rolling out all the time, it’s important to know which ones will give you the best shot at finding someone amazing.
Here are the four apps every single should have in their pocket.
Best Dating Apps of 2025
Hinge – The App Designed to Be Deleted

Hinge’s tagline is still “Designed to be deleted,” and honestly, it’s living up to the hype in 2025. Hinge continues to shine because of its in-depth profiles and creative prompts. It’s this ability to showcase who you are that attracts a user-base that’s far more concerned with finding a long-term partner than it is with finding a quick romp in the sack.
What’s new this year? Hinge has added AI-powered compatibility insights. After just a few interactions, it’ll analyze your messaging patterns and offer tailored conversation tips to help things flow better. It’s like having a dating coach in your pocket—although I like to think I’m a bit more fun!
This app is ideal if you’re looking for a relationship and want a partner who shares your values and interests. Compared to the other apps on the list Hinge offers the most in-depth search preferences.
Some of the dating preferences you can filter by include:
- Height
- Dating intentions
- Children preference
- Politics
- Drug use
- Education level
- Ethnicity
- Age-range
- Exact location (free search feature)
Pro tip: Spend extra time on your prompts—this is what makes or breaks your profile on Hinge.
Bumble – Women Make the First Move… Kinda

Bumble was once known as feminist Tinder, and to many still is. But as of late 2024, Bumble changed its philosophy a bit. Bumble’s claim to fame was that women had to message to initiate a conversation (that, and that its founder co-founded Tinder before leaving due to sexual harassment). After bringing in a new CEO in early 2024 (and firing her in late 2024), Bumble did away with this long-held rule and instead gave men the option of responding to prompts chosen by their match. In this way, men are now able to message first, but only if female users include a prompt in their profile.
Even though they may have moved away from their “feminist” roots, Bumble still has a lot to offer. For one, it has the second-largest user base behind Tinder. But unlike Tinder, it attracts a slightly older milieu more interested in finding a forever partner rather than a one-night shag.
Not to mention Bumble also offers users ample opportunity to display their personality on their profile and other cool features like anti-ghosting reminders, the ability to video chat, and newly curated profiles that land in your swipe queue every morning.
Even if, for some reason, you don’t love Bumble’s interface or vibe due to its sheer number of users, if you hope to have success in online dating, this app is a must-download.
The League – If Tinder Went to an Ivy League School

When The League came out it was immediately billed as elitist Tinder.
That title probably had something to do with the application process that sometimes takes months to process and the fact that 98% of users have college degrees, 30% of whom have advanced degrees, with most making six figures. Or maybe it’s because they recently launched their Be a Goldigger campaign designed to appeal to goal-oriented women (read: wealthy women).
Look, the reality is that sometimes it can be difficult to meet someone who has their sh**t together. If you want to meet a badass woman who can have an amazing conversation and ambitions to match your own, download The League.
Just be prepared to collect digital dust as you bide your time on the waiting list for a few weeks. Once you’re accepted, be ready to pay over $100 a month. But hey, what’s a few hundred (or thousand) dollars if you find the one?
The reality is that The League has a super high quality dating pool. That’s why they can charge so much. Sure there may be a barrier to entry unlike other apps, but the upside is that if you enter this exclusive club, you’ll gain access to a dating pool of liquid gold.
Time Left

There is one app that is unlike the rest, and it’s Time Left.
There are two reasons for that. For one, Time Left isn’t a dating app. And the second is that it’s an app designed for those who want to meet face-to-face.
Let’s break down the app that’s taking the US one dinner table at a time.
In short, Time Left is a social app designed to get people away from the screen and into the cushions of a semi-fancy restaurant. After taking a personality test you’ll be matched with 5+ compatible strangers. Time Left will then organize when and where you will dine (it’s available in over 300 cities worldwide). Once at the table, you’ll have the option of breaking the ice by playing Time Left’s in-app game.
Really, it’s an app that designs a night out for a group of strangers. Some you’ll hit it off with, others not so much. And again, while it’s not a dating app, most people nowadays still meet outside of a romantic context. They meet through friends, at parties, at church, bars, co-ed volleyball, the gym, etc. Don’t feel weird that you’re using this app to meet women (just don’t be a creep about it and you’ll be fine).
The good news is that while men are allowed at Time Left events, from what I’ve seen, read, and experienced, most of the time, more men than women attend. And hey, if you don’t meet anyone you want to date, maybe you’ll expand your social group and meet potential suitors through your newly acquired friends.
Another feature I love about Time Left is that at the end of the night, you don’t have to ask the woman you’re vibing with for her number. Just like with speed dating you’ll secretly community with a third party, and if the woman you’re into wants to see you again the app will facilitate the exchange of information and nudge you towards meeting up again.
