Look let’s be real.

Even an app that positions itself as anti-superficial, Hinge is still as plastic as any other dating app.

Its users still care about your photos more than any other piece of information you can provide.

Here’s the difference.

Unlike other apps, Hinge also gives you a platform to put your personality on full display.

It does this through Hinge prompts.

Each user is required to answer three of these prompts in their profile.

One of the best prompts is this one…

Women prefer to date ambitious guys that want to take over the world.

I’m talking about men that want to give their own TED talk, travel to every country in the world, and build their own zoo.

This is the perfect opportunity to talk about your life goals, passions, and your future life.

 A Life Goal of Mine Hinge Responses

Now before you get all riled up and drum up a million things you want to achieve in life allow me to say one thing.

People have a tendency to get serious on dating apps — too serious.

They list dealbreakers, provide a litany of traits they’re looking for, and more often than not provide unoriginal answers.

Don’t be boring. 

If the rest of your profile is more or less serious, use this opportunity to inject a little flavor and wit into your profile.

Tell her about a humorous life goal (or simply something funny) that you at least say you want to achieve.

Don’t know what that looks like?

Here are some examples.

1) Travel!

Now more than ever how desirable you and your life seem to be are tied to how often you travel.

Everyone loves traveling, talking about travel, and even planning to travel.

It’s an easy way to bond with someone as well as indicate that you’re an interesting person with money to spend on globetrotting.

What I also love about this response is that it provides a list of both places the user wants to travel and a list of their ancestry. Anyone who has roots in the aforementioned countries will likely message you to talk about how they’re also Scottish, Maltese, German, or Slovak.

2) Awww

If that doesn’t get you a like or a rose I don’t know what will. This is a sincere answer that will win hearts, minds, and roses.

If you want to take this even further give her details. Say you want to publish a children’s picture book series that teaches children to have compassion for those different than them or a feminist children’s book about a stuffed animal that doesn’t like to be touched.

The answer above is a broad stroke, she wants to read granular details. These details will reveal who you are and increase your odds of scoring a date.

3) Just Make Her Giggle

LOL!

There’s a reason this tutorial that looks like it was made in the late 90s has 22 million views.

This prompt is so funny because humans are near-universally ignorant when it comes to folding a fitted bedsheet.

Most of us just crumble it up and toss it in the linen closet. Others don’t even use fitted bedsheets.

Find a silly life goal like this one that will resonate with everyone — or specifically with the type of women you want to attract. Remember that your goal here isn’t to write something that appeals to everyone, but rather only to women you’re compatible with.

4) A Classic Combo

Who doesn’t love sourdough and IPAs?

Actually probably a lot of people. But that’s fine. You don’t care about those people. Talk about your aspirations and be specific. If your ideal life consists of baking and brewing let the world know.

Not to mention I’d assume more females bake than men. By listing a more feminine activity it’s likely that the baker in her will speak up and like if not comment on your prompt. A ton of people picked up baking during the pandemic. I wouldn’t be surprised if a prompt talking about a pandemic hobby gets a high volume of likes.

5) The Dream

Go big or go home.

Sell her on your fantasy.

Remember this is the perfect prompt to not talk about who you are but who you want to be.

If you want to go to the moon now’s the time to talk about your lofty goals. If your life goal is to run a marathon, climb K2, and swim the entire Long Island Sound, tell her about it here.

6) Exclusive Is As Exclusive Does

For those unfamiliar, Gary Danko is one of the fanciest, most exclusive, highest-rated restaurant in San Francisco.

You may have to wait months to get a reservation.

If you’re a foodie there’s perhaps nowhere in the world you’d rather be (except for maybe French Laundry).

Food is something that has a habit of bringing people together. Quickly form a bond by talking about your affinity for comida.

This prompt also signals that you’re a man of good taste and wealth. Finding artful ways to flex social status is considered tasteful and attractive. Plainly talking about how much money you make isn’t.

7) Classic

Fitness buffs where you at?

This goal is classic, maybe a little basic, but it doesn’t matter.

If it’s near and dear to your heart, write it out and share it with the world. Not to mention that there are plenty of single women out there that share the goal of running a marathon.

This is a great way to bond with someone not to mention it can easily lead to a first date.

If you two both share the goal of running a marathon why not pitch running together for a first date. Find a dope running trail or loop, start your Strava, and get your jog on. Perhaps afterward refuel with a smoothie.

8) Even More Classic

It’s simple, but it’s what we all want.

Not everyone, in fact, it seems few people are living truly happy lives.

Most people would be fine if they don’t climb the tallest mountain or travel to all seven continents. If you have a partner you’re happy to spend time with — and friends that always pick up the phone, that should be enough.

9) Gooooaaaalllllll!

The best life goals involve goals and lots of them.

I’m talking diving headers, volleys, and of course bicycle kicks.

In case you weren’t made aware, Mexico, Canada, and the US are hosting the 2026 World Cup.

If you’re a soccer head the holy trifecta would be to attend a match in each host nation.

This is a super-specific life goal. Remember that the more detail you can add to your life goal the greater your odds of getting a like and bonding.

10) Slap That Bass Brahh

Everyone wants to learn how to play an instrument, but few actually know how to slap that bass.

This is as worthy a life goal as any other.

Not to mention that the ladies love a rockstar (or even someone that just knows how to play Yellow by Coldplay).

11) That’s Heavy Stuff

Keep things as light, as serious, or as sarcastic as you’d like.

This response would have had a much different flavor to it had the last part about being reborn as a French Bulldog too many times not been added.

Write What Feels Right

As you can see, there are a variety of ways to go about answering this prompt.

You can be deadly serious, aim to make her say aw, try to make her laugh or just be flat out different.

What’s key is that you’re being true to yourself. Be authentic and express a real life goal or just make her laugh.

Don’t try to write something basic that you think will resonate will a bunch of people. The more specific and true to you the more likely you are to attract super compatible women.
